-Numbers obtained from CDC National Center for Health Statistics mortality report online, 2007.
Try not to kill yourself or anyone else, and consider the animals that you intend to kill as well. I know having a conscious sucks for gun owners, but you might be surprised at how good it feels not having a desire/need to hunt and kill innocent animals in the wild is.
FACT: A gun in the home increases the risk of homicide of a household member by 3 times and the risk of suicide by 5 times compared to homes where no gun is present.

FACT: Comparison of U.S. gun homicides to other industrialized countries:
In 1998, handgun murders:
373 people in Germany
151 people in Canada
57 people in Australia
19 people in Japan
54 people in England and Wales, and
11,789 people in the United States
(*Please note that these 1998 numbers account only for HOMICIDES, and do not include suicides, which comprise and even greater number of gun deaths, or unintentional shootings).
- Provided by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence
11,789 gun homicides in one year alone - that is more than three times the number of US Service People killed in Iraq since the war started.
I served in the military for 6 years. I do not own a gun...

ADG
I am surprised no one else has come in to defend this, but it impossible for a gun to kill anyone or anything by itself.
Actually I would like to see everybody allowed to carry a firearm have a concealed permit and carry. Then lets take a good look at crime stats. Sure we may see a temp spike in gun deaths but everything else should drop crime wise.

You shouldn't need a permit to own a gun. Its not the government's business who has a gun, who has how many guns, etc. But yeah, everyone should have a gun. I think they should add proper firearms training as an elective in public high skools. If guns were everywhere, crime would disappear almost overnight. But the goddamned Brady campaign has managed to convince everyone that isnt a good idea.

That is a truly scary point of view wow.
TripleXPrint on Megan Fox "I would STILL suck her pussy until her face caved in. And then blow her up and do it again!"
I take no responsibility for posts I make that are opinion based after midnight my time, I am medicated by then.
I just figure it would be a damn good crime deterant. Hell if I was a criminal that would scare me shitless knowing granny may be packing.
Fair enought
However I disagree with it being a deterrent, probably jack the death rate by gun. People would shoot first and ask questions later, not to mention the number of accidental deaths.

I do recall that in areas where people are allowed concealed firearms that crime rates do indeed drop a great deal.
Though do not hold Florida to what I said, as Florida is its own whole special level of messed up. The only things not considered crooked down there are zig zags.

As with any other unsafe/dangerous product, the people who manufacture and sell guns should be held liable for at least some of the damages caused by their products.
Semi-automatic weapons and so-called "cop-killer" bullets should be done away with entirely.
Some people have posted that if you arm everyone, homicide and other gun death rates will go down, but this flys in the face of most logic and research in large urban areas (which is where most of the population resides).
Look at the homicide rates in countries where guns are banned, and it is clear that banning/restricting the ownership of guns does in fact reduce homicides.
There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11? ( Lord of War )

I have a permit and a lot of people I know do also. Reciprocity is the best part and yes, areas where they are permitted tend to make people feel safer. The class I took had ages 21 to 86 and was almost 30% women.
I think those bullpup stocks are banned up here. Not sure why, I guess it is because they look "scary". There's certainly no other legitimate reason for it.
So why all the suicide stats? They actually argue against you...
How so?
I am against suicide too in most instances, and I'm especially against gunshot inflicted suicide, since that traumitizes the people that have to clean up the mess left behind...
If people really want to die, I guess they should have a right to, however I would like for them to first avail themselves of counseling and other services, and after all that, it should be done in as humane and non-violent way as possible.
Talking about guns... my Glock keeps on frigging jamming. Grrrrrrr...
What do you want, it's a GLOCK! Try Cleaning it first, then if that doesn't work, take it to a gun smithy, might need something shaved

Some people shouldn't have guns, criminals for one!
I just got two 69 caliber flint lock horse pistols, going to rebuild them and shoot them in a couple weeks, I'll have pics!
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
