Well, for large industries like movies and music, they could do a much better job of keeping their product locked up before hitting the shelves. Any time something is "leaked" it has to have originated from the company making the product.
There's no reason I should be able to download a 1080p Bluray version of a movie 2 months before the DVD release.
They could start by fixing things on their end first, but they haven't bothered. Easier to sue people than admit something is fucked and fix it.
