                                                It seems Squillion have switched Paypal accounts, their original one is on hold pending investigation.

                                                This morning I spoke to Julie Bainbridge, from Paypal in Singapore, she advised me most of the sites on the http://coldcopy.com.au websites had lost their Paypal accounts. However together on the phone and our respective computers went to some of the sites and found they were accepting Paypal - which indicates these companies will switch in new Paypal accounts to replace suspended ones.

                                                Julie Bainbridge has promised to keep dialogue open while this issue is addressed and as such I am beginning to believe that Paypal is seeing this as a real problem. It remains to be seen what the outcome will be.

                                                Personally I believe Paypal should include File Lockers as banned products in their AUP, right alongside gambling and adult. Let's see if we can convince them to do that because as things stand now they will deal with these on a case by case basis.

                                                    Squillion have just had their Paypal account placed in review, so they still receive payments but cannot withdraw from the account. Their uploading affiliates are pissed off!

                                                                        Dropbox doesn't provide any incentive to share all your content with others and get payed does it.
                                                                        Dropbox makes you want to pay (for more space beyond 2GB) because they have a very nice syncing feature across all your devices. Do these file lockers intend on that? No way.
                                                                        Every product has it's unique selling point, and for filelockers that's software or media that normally goes for thousands of dollars for the price of a premium membership.

                                                                        Your beliefs don't have to align absolutely, but please show some support.

                                                                        Robbie wrote his piece on cnn and as always the thread turned into a civil war with all of you just bitching at each other. Granted critiques were made on how it could of been written better but that was it, none of you offered to rewrite it or do much beyond voting for the article.

                                                                        Everyone bitches about manwin owning the tubes and stealing from people, then manwin comes out and says every affiliate will be terminated that uses a .xxx domain and suddenly manwin is your biggest friend and your cheering for them. This just proves the lot of you are pinheads who can't see many steps ahead, and big companies headed by big brains laugh at you for being pawns. Life and business favors those who can think ahead strategically, the farther the better. Many of you exude deficiency in this category on here. People bash Markham but in reality he has understanding of how the trends are.

                                                                        Please continue support for AdultKing, he's pushing for something that will benefit all of you. You may not believe in everything he does word for word but it's the right direction and he's showing action and perseverance.

                                                                        I will continue support with rebuttals and working on pieces for him.

                                                                            I'd also like to give another analogy here too.

                                                                            Brad Mitchell was talking about removing his service mojohost of people running illegal tubes. He did this because he has character and believes in ethics.
                                                                            Well some time later he made an announcement here retracting that statement that they would not actively seek those running illegal tubes, the reason? Because people figured they'd just take there business elsewhere and unlike Brad most people aren't above making a buck regardless of how it's made. He couldn't help it, it's just the way it is.
                                                                            So goes with filehosts. Rapidshare is riding a lesser line by only allowing rewards of free accounts to people who get sufficient downloads of their content. If one filehosts offers more rewards then uploaders leap to them. It's all a game of leapfrog and who can remain resilient to shutting down. If a company says they actively seek uploaders who upload copyrighted content and deletes there account, they're going out of business very soon.

                                                                                I'm sorry I don't follow your logic. Paypal until today have been recalcitrant and unwilling to face up to the issue. How on earth is criticizing Paypal for processing for illegal content crossing the line ?

I did consider it however I am having to be very careful with what I do here. If you want to share an article on one of the sites click the facebook like button on the post. It will then appear in your timeline.

                                                                                            You reasoning for paypal getting rid of all file lockers, even the legitimate ones, is that just because there is no violation of copyrights today doesn't mean that there won't be some tomorrow. You are already convicting legitimate businesses of something that has not happened yet but that might happen in the future.

                                                                                            Rather than going after those who are in violation and promote the distribution of illegal content with financial compensation to those who upload and promote the uploads, you're lumping everyone together. This is a VERY dangerous precedent to be setting.

                                                                                            It is akin to going to CCBill and saying, hey, since porn site X, Y, and Z have content that they shouldn't, we feel that you should terminate processing for ALL porn sites...because if a porn site doesn't have questionable content today they might tomorrow. I'm all for taking down the file lockers who deserve to be taken down...but going after legitimate ones, which is what you're after by wanting paypal to disallow ALL file lockers, is overboard.

                                                                                                I am not asking Paypal to shut down processing for legitimate file lockers, however legitimate file lockers are few and far between. All of the ones who pay uploaders and affiliates for downloads are illegitimate and must be shut down. It is those sites I am going after.

                                                                                                Dropbox and other such services have nothing to fear and in my discussions with Paypal this morning that distinction was discussed. I am not going after legitimate file lockers.

                                                                                                I hope this clarifies things, perhaps my choice of words could have been better however I am often posting in the middle of the night here due to timezones and sometimes have minor brain freezes.

                                                                                                    I think it's good that you are documenting your conversations with the employees. It provides a paper trail for later if action escalates to something bigger such as Congress calling in Paypal or Visa/Mastercard to inquire under oath about possible processing for child pornography. They will not be able to claim that they weren't aware. In the end I suspect this is partially what scared CCBill to death. All it takes is for the story to blow up or one high profile incident to occur and it's quite possible that this could happen.

                                                                                                            I was just going based on the change to Paypal's AUP that you wanted, to drop all file lockers. Live Drive is another legitimate file locker.

                                                                                                            Support? Yes, infact, maybe I can help you with your efforts. I'm pretty good at writing scrapers. Maybe I can write something to monitor file lockers and report details to you when questionable content is found on the site. I could make it grab screen shots for you...Make it easier for you to find and collect the data you need so that it frees up more of your time to tackle the more challenging aspects of what it is you're doing.

                                                                                                                You don't want pirates identifying us individually as being legitimate webmasters. Look at their forums... they're actively trying to wage war against everyone who's trying to take a stand against piracy.

                                                                                                                Putting a face to a name, or a name to an agenda could allow them to cause some problems for everyone involved.

                                                                                                                    Something else fun to do is Twitter investigative journalists like @chrishansen @andersoncooper etc, those guys love shit like this, as the stories come to them, and they don't have to invest time in finding stories to sensationalize.

                                                                                                                    The other best and most effective way is to DMCA Google and remove all their SERPS for the infringing material. Kills the traffic dead. Have fun!

                                                                                                                        Someone contacted me yesterday to place ads for an anti-piracy product on the sites, I refused. I decided there would be no ads before I started this project.

                                                                                                                        I'm happy to keep on doing what I'm doing and any support is appreciated. If people want to donate a few bucks to help pay for professionally written articles for the other three sites which I haven't released yet (but are set up waiting for content) then contact me and I'll let you know where to send some cash.

                                                                                                                                                            -now if they use vobile fingerprinting they are safe even more
                                                                                                                                                            So in shortly no way to deal with tubes,maybe only suing for unfair competition.

                                                                                                                                                                A Big Win against File Lockers!

                                                                                                                                                                It took a while and lot of phone calls and pressure on Paypal but finally there is going to be complete co-operation between my campaign against file lockers and Paypal.

                                                                                                                                                                I now have an ongoing dialogue with the most senior person responsible for shutting down illegal sites processing through Paypal and we will be communicating on a regular basis to ensure that every illegal site identified loses their Paypal processing.

                                                                                                                                                                                        It's a combined effort and there are already quite a few people involved, just because they don't make it as public, doesn't mean it's not happening!
