I smoke cigarettes, don't see how that got my car broke into.

If you're joking that it's a fiend, I've shown no indication that I am a crack dealer. They have no reason to suspect shit in my gear shift.

Out of all the shit in my car they just took all the change and broke my gear shift all to shit. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

I got a cheapo security camera I used to use at our old place, but the lighting outside here is fucked at night and I can't see anything on the video. I am going to hook it back up anyway just for the audio.

If they're going to tear my shit up they could have atleast stole something to make it seem worth it. We've been awake both times and it's irritating they do it right under my fucking nose. The first time I went out back when I heard to punk motherfucker and chased him up the street yelling and screaming but I didn't have any fuckin shoes on. :{

I lived in a "bad" neighborhood when I was in my late teens for awhile and we constantly had gas stolen out of our cars. We tried just about everything with no luck. Finally, after the cops told us that they had more important things to watch for, we came up with our own plan.

Whoever it was kept getting one vehicle more than the others, (probably because it had a huge tank..lol) an old impala. Well, the gas tank on those are behind the rear plates kind of up under the bumper... so you reach in "blind" more or less top take the cap off. We took a hobby knife (small 1/4 inch blade) and taped it to the gas tank opening so just a bit of the blade was sticking over the end of it. Sure enough, the thief came back real soon after that and evidently just reached in to grab the cap off because there was a nice little trail of blood leading away (We didn't have enough of the blade sticking out to do major damage but I bet it sure hurt like a bitch! ) and the car still had a full tank. They never returned either.

Of course nowadays the results would probably end badly but this was 20+ years back

Razor blades under the door handle seems like an idea I'm leaning towards. Might not catch them myself but they'll remember me.

a cheap car alarm is only $100 - just make sure they put the led in a noticable place. You can buy cheap cameras with nightvision that record to your computer for like 200-300.

Car alarm is an option but it'll cost me more than $100. I don't have the extra money at the moment.

I do however have the security camera set back up in a better place this time. The video won't do any good in identifying anyone but if I'm watching the screen I can tell someones back there by the cars. Every time it's happened here I've been awake so this will come in handy.

Wifey won't let me go out there and roll the window down to try and provoke them to come back. It probably won't happen for a week or two but I sure do hope they come back tonight.

This camera has RCAs that plug in to a little TV I have with a built in VCR for recording. I don't have a video card with RCA jacks to get the video on the computer. Wish I did.
