Not all electric cars....
I drove a Tesla a few years ago and loved it. Last week though I test drove a Chevy Volt. It was a nice enough car for sure, but the range was limited to about 70 or 80 Kilometers which MIGHT be ok for suburb to city driving, but I found myself looking at the battery gauge all the time.
What is both good and sucky about the Chevy Volt is that it is a hybrid of sorts. A gas motor turns a generator to charge the battery. A good idea I suppose, but the car would get much better battery milage if it didn't have that heavy motor + Transmission + oil pan + gas tank + + + to lug around. While its better than all other Hybrids in my opinion, it's still kind of a weird idea. Tesla and soon, BMW, are the only ones doing it right.
