Professional studios don't use $100 cams ... Many have multiple computers with webcast cams attached to each in the $300 - $600 range, maybe 3 cams on one cam girl. 60% of our cams are from studios the rest from independents that might be using $100 consumer cams -- they cannot broadcast in HD

Don't compare a file or DVD run locally or even streamed to live webcam broadcasts. Apart from videochatting with a real person is not comparable to watching a video the main problem in the quality is in the cam; good quality webcams are not in the class of professional cams used in video production they are made to record not webcast.
