Hi all, im thinking to buy me a tablet and i really dont know what to choose from these two ones; so i invite owners of one of these models to post pros and cons of the tablet they have.
Using both I like the touch screen and ease of use with the iPad, I prefer the smaller size of the 7" droid tablets, and there's getting to be better app support for android. I'd still go with an iPad, but in two years the android might be a better choice - we'll see.

I have both (IPad 3 and Samsung 10.1). Before I could recommend one or the other I would have to ask what you would be doing with it and what other devices phones etc do you have?
very much so. ipad is a siple tool, what you see is what you get, want to change something or use apps from someplace other then the app store...tough shit... I have an ipad (original - got it right after release) and a motorola xoom. The new android 4.04 is awsome. beats ipad hands down. But some people like simple, unflexable stuff like ipad..

i looked around, but android looks more flexible than apple ...
Oh forgot to mention, my xoom (android) is 4G, i can download at about 29mps and upload at 10mps.. let an ipad top those numbers when you are not on wifi...heck even on wifi...ipads wifi is horrible

I wouldnt use a samsung tab if they paid me. Get an ipad. Tablets are all about the apps. Dont get stuck with a third rate copy cat product, unless you're poor.

I have an iPad 3, and my wife has an iPad 2. The thing about Apple products, yes like Venus said... they're simple devices. But on the flip side, they're very polished devices. Everything is very smooth. All the transitions are flawless, etc. Android devices have a strange stutter to them that makes the transitions herky-jerky. Like when you scroll a web page, it stutters for a second... and then it starts scrolling. And it's quite noticeable.
There was a Jailbreak for iOS 5.1 released about a week ago that removes the dependency on the iTunes App Store.
The other thing is the screen of the iPad 3 is better than sex. 2048 x 1536 is quite a sight at 9.7". The problem with the iPad 2 is it's 1024 x 768 resolution makes small text literally unreadable, and I hate being able to see the pixels on the text I'm reading.
Remember, these tablets are meant to be replacements for books and magazines, and meant for surfing casually. Clean looking text is critical, and the only device currently on the market that gives you clarity similar to an actual book is the iPad 3.
The reason I never owned an iPad 2 was because the pixel density really sucks... I strongly suggest avoiding it for the higher resolution model. It will be money well spent.
Bought an ipad2, hate it. Zero flexibility.. hell, I can't even use openvpn on the damn thing. Gave it to my 2 y/o to play angry birds on and take shitty pictures with. All the damn thing is good for.
Currently waiting for the Asus Transformer TF700T Infinity to be released...
you do know that apple has stolen some of the ideas from android dont you, the pull down menu, over the air updates (you used to have to tether your iphone/ipad to computer to get updates). Apple is a big copycat....dont get stuck with it
