no it was not in baggies or anything... first drug offense

LONG story... so anyone here know of a putt bull in vegas? i dont want one of those lawyers that just want to make a quick buck and not give a shit about me

Shit bro, that really sucks. I know my old employer has used this guy in the past when she had drug issues and he has been practicing criminal law in Vegas since the '70's http://www.johnmomot.com/. If they tried to slap trafficking on you for that amount it sounds like they were overcharging and expecting for it to get dropped or plead down...

IMO... you are not looking at time if it eases your mind in any way. Really depends on the judge man.. Damn...
I was busted once with a little under 2 grams of coke and unlawful possession of a firearm.. plead out 5 years probation with priors... AND this was in TX. Good Luck man.

after a year or two of good behavior it reduces down to a misdemeanor.

Sorry man.. that's not how it works. If Nevada has any form of Deferred Adjudication.. his best bet is to pursue that or get a badass lawyer who will get the whole case thrown out on a technicality. If he fights it though... he risks
getting convicted through a jury trial and then he will see some time most likely.
It's best to be plead out, IMO unless you really are not guilty. Either way.. you are still fucked because it shows up as an arrest on your criminal record. When all is said and done.. he'll need to get another attorney and file a petition to have it expunged... otherwise.. like some else said earlier.. it will haunt you for life. I know all about it.

I do hope you get reduced charges man, but maybe stopping the illegal activities will keep you from having these issues in the first place.

Ah man, that blows. My father is a criminal attorney but in Chicago. I bet since its your first drug offense, you have a job and are white... you will most likely get probation, fine and drug school. Max 30 days in county. A good lawyer will save you the downtime. Good luck man... I hate cops.

oh and take Pr0;s advice to..if not in-patient then Defintley outpatient treatment...that shit does wonders in the legal system ..especially if done beofre its requied...Also it helps alot with not only judge..but with the bullshit people you need to convince like probation,dmv,etc..that you dont use anymore and dont need to pay THEM thousands for treatment since your already in the program ..12 steppin like a country line dancer.
