    A thought about a different way to make money with porn....

    Why not just give your content away for free.

    But stick adverts at the start and end of your clips.

    I am suprised that firms are not offering this.

    Or have free access to your site in exchange for the persons data. In otherwords they can pay to join, or opt to join free, but to do so must fill in a form.

    Data gathering seems to be how firms are making money online these days.

              OR... someone could try putting a bunch of images on a page. Call them anything... like "thumbnails". Lets call that page a "thumbnail gallery" or something. Maybe "TGP" for short. These "thumbnails" can link to other pages with more images from that same set, lets call that an "image gallery". Then users can visit these pages of "thumbnails", go to the "image gallery" and on that "image gallery" there could be links to a larger collection of content. Lets call that a "pay site" where surfers could buy a monthly membership for access to all the content? Dunno really. Haven't thought much about this.

                      yeah, but he is talking about content owners doing it. I'll stick to having members paying subscriptions. If the time comes that I don't make money this way, I'll just quit and move onto a different business.

                          know what's crazy is that torrents were giving away free hour long videos for years, but it did not EVER bother sales because torrents attracted a select little crowd.

                          that was our bootleggers, which every industry has.

                          but we've surely fucked ourselves the moment we opened our stores and said "ITS ALL FREE NOW" and hoped they donated a quarter or bought a slim jim on the way out.

                                  If piracy was dealt a killing blow I can see this as an excellent way to make money. Not for me, too much like work. LOL

                                      For the life of me, I'll never understand the mindset of people who want to use, and do use, porn videos as a loss leader. People would have continued to pay for it.
