How many of you guys take checks on paysites and does it happen often that it CREDITS

I got like 5 credits over the last few days on checks processed by verotel. And overall they have been credited much more often then credit cards.

Is it possible that people with checks are broke ass scamming fucks that dont deserve to enter a paysite?

much higher rate of returns on ach...3 popular methods of dealing with it when it comes to affiliates...lower payouts for the ach transactions or deduct the returns from webmaster accounts (not popular). another way is to mark it as a pending sale in the account and wait for the check to clear before crediting the affiliate.

the lower payout seems to work the best. the pending join method at full payout is somewhat tricky because rebills are still subject to possible returns just as the initial transaction was, even though that one cleared. lastly, webmasters hate seeing joins disappear from their accounts so i wouldn't recommend deducting returns unless you are running rev share.

I'd say 90% of all check payments taken on my site are returned. I'm logging in to CCBill in a few minutes to remove this option from my join forms.

Thanks for reminding me, this has been on my to-do list for a few weeks now.

I think they realize they can get access for a day or two before the check bounces. That's all they need to get off right now, so it works.

Thanks for such a detailed response. I am using revshare... but I myself am pissed for these no good bastards getting free porn and getting away with it easily.

            Hey Guys

I may have an alternative solution to the current online ach method. Works very much like an atm/debit transaction and funds are settled in 25 hours as opposed to the normal method of going thru the fed reserve which can normally take about 5 days. Hit me up if you want to learn more.

We have been using Epoch and our returned check percentage has gone down trememdously than from when we were using CCBILL.

'I'd say 90% of all check payments taken on my site are returned.'

Unfortunately, I'd have to agree. After having 10 checks returned in 7 days earlier this year I removed the option completely. If you want to join by check, too bad. It's a credit card or nothing.

Taking checks sucks for exactly the reasons specified above. Globill used to have this thing where the purchaser would have to wait the 5 or so days for the check to clear to gain access, and THAT actually worked pretty good. You'd get an angry email once and a while about waiting 5 days, but you know how that goes.

Oh yeah, Globill went out of business several years ago and took a lot of webmasters' money in the process, so maybe they're not such a shining example of a 3rd party processor. But I ASSUME CCBill or Epoch could just as easily do the wait-until-the-check-clears thing before giving site access but I dunno.

See if the processor can turn on email verify for check signups. This forces the possible member to verify the transaction before it's valid. This reduces the refund/cb rate with checks by a major factor, it also slows down the total possible amount of sales that will come through on checks.
