Somewhat profound when you think about it.
I've had a few offers over the years to sell my websites, however I built every page of every site by hand from day one, every day for nearly a decade, and the thought of not running them anymore would be like losing a child to me (I totally understand Hef's reluctance to let go of the empire which he built).
It was hard for me to even let go to the point of letting someone else redesign my sites for me, but after Adobe quit supporting GoLive, and since I needed to integrate designs with my CMS (which was beyond my skill set), I finally hired someone else to do the work.
I'm happy now that I made the changes, but it was still a bittersweet exerpience.
I'm sure it will feel odd to Sleazy for awhile, but if the money allows him to pursue his next dream to be an RV Park King, then I guess it is a good thing.

P.S. One of my fondest memories in adult was when I was in FL for Internext, 2001 or 2002 (I was 19 or 20). I brought my GF (wife now) and we were sitting by the pool. You were talking to a gentleman, and you both looked my way. One of you said "Hey look... one of the GFY trolls scrounged enough money up to leave their mom's basement from the weekend". You both had a good laugh, and that was that.
Needless to say, at the time I was pretty heated but I just ignored it and continued to relax with my gf. However, there are a few moments in a person's life where they have something happen to them that sticks with them forever, and it either crushes them, or makes them stronger. That moment in particular made me stronger, and this business has treated me quite well ever since, due to hard work.
While the outcome of that could have ended up much different, I'm glad it didn't, and oddly enough, I just want to say THANK YOU. Your words in general made me push harder to prove everybody wrong that looked at me and thought that.

I made a little better than 5 Canadian, but a lot was due to great us/can money conversions in 2000-2004, so for US dollars your estimate is probably about right......
I never said anywhere how much I got for SleazyDream, but I'm very happy with the sale price.
No regrets about adult, it was very good to me.
Sad to see how many people are just bitter and just full of hatred now though. My advise to anyone new, stay away from the haters. Don't listen to them.
