    is samsung now the new apple?

    iin the uk the galaxy phone is now more popular than the iphone.

    they are leading the way too it seems with smart tv's.

    the iphone made nokia phones not tredy. now the galaxy phone seems to now be more cool than the iphone.

    so is the eara of apple over and now samsung leads?

              Not even gonna touch that previous response, but Samsung is generally -or was generally - my first choice in electronics until I got their 'Smart DVD'. Fucker crashes constantly on Hulu. I only got it because I wanted that, 3D and Blu-Ray capability, but I have neither Blu-Ray or 3D DVDs and 50% of the time it's less painful to just watch Hulu on my comp.
              As far as mobile, LG kicks Samsung's ass. The month that Android gets its shit together, Ice Cream is on most devices, and updates are consistent is the beginning of the end for iOS. Unlike iPhone users we don't need to panic if we start running out of space, just buy a bigger SD card.

                                  Definately wrong about smart TVs. Even the reports you refer to say that the user experience is not there yet, but they agree that the time will come. Plus there are plenty of reports that say the Smart Tv will be a fixture in every home in the near future. (3-5 years)

                                              Smart TVs are the TV industry's attempt to sell tellies again. Everyone had CRTs. The big seller for me with Apple is stability and security, plus the keyboard on the iPhone is 10x better than any other device that I used.

                                                                                                                          My Samsung microwave has been running for 20 yrs or so now I think. Sorry don't own any other modern devices by them, but I think it's a solid company and would buy. Their new ultra thin 15" notebook looks nice in the commercials.

                                                                                                                                      My brother manages IT for a medium sized outfit, and loves the Samsung Galaxy II Skyrocket. He went from Blackberry to it for business purposes, but had an iPhone for personal. He said after using it he would never go back to an iPhone.

                                                                                                                                                  I've had both, and prefer my samsung phone, mostly for android. Much more customizable, interesting, fun to play with, expandable, etc. I can even replace my own battery imagine that.

                                                                                                                                                  Also I like Samsung TV's the best, though I still have my old Sharp and see no need to upgrade yet.

                                                                                                                                                                      Smart people buy TV's then rely on external boxes (Computers / media centres, Xboz360, AppleTV, Sony Playstation etc) to make the TV smart. There is much more support for these units because there are more units sold.

                                                                                                                                                                              My experience with *Smart* TV's / bluray etc is that the access it provides to your network is like another AUX input. ie I can still use any external device to *make the TV smart* and at the same time can bypass all that and go directly to whatever.

                                                                                                                                                                              Also the possibility of streaming video / music / images from my laptop/desktop is there too.

                                                                                                                                                                              I suspect you have not used a Smart TV.

I was at a meeting in Manhattan today, and needed to charge my Droid. There were 7 people in the room, and all of them had iPhones -- and they didn't know anyone else in the office that had a Droid.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  When I have a family gathering, all of the Apple drones are looking at their iPhones. I mean all of them. Every fucking body has a goddamn iPhone, so I don't believe that anything is more popular. I have empirical data.
