I once got into a traffic deal with Soul Rebel and I regret it.

He sent me around 100 hits but my script didn't return any... then the mails started.

I offered to send $100 instead of having to force 100 hits over there but he wouldn't take it. In the end, after about two dozen mails, I had to send him the traffic.

Awesome. I used to have the registered version on my BBS... Cool game. My good friend Tom and I in high school pretty much became friends through that game...

I had Operation Overkill, Global Wars, and YANKEE TRADER! (I think that's what it was called...... But Tradewars 2002 was by far the most popular.

I ran a 10 line BBS (AmigaZone) on DLG up until about 1986.
With all those modems I used to be able to pretty much write modem configs in my head :-)

Too many drinks and drugs later its all a bit hazy....

AT&L0 for serial dial up

AT&V for current config

the K's for RTS/CTS error correction.....

I started with Wildcat... then I tried Telegard and UltraBBS because it was multinode... I had my own Telegard hack too ;) (Pascal)

You BBS geezers, anyone ever sign onto &TOTSE? The Temple of the Screaming Electron was the first thing I ever dialed into on a PC. The second was using a sequential war dialer program to scan the block of telephone #'s leased by a local network software firm for backdoor dialups, which shows you what I learned at TOTSE.

Those were the days...

I used to run a Waffle board in england.. kinda like a unix system on msdos! Combined with desqview (think it was called that) for 'multi-tasking', my dialup internet account from Demon and a blisteringly fast 14.4k modem (2400 when I started it) it was a kick ass system!

Don't get me started on Hayes commands... some things are best forgotten.. ;)

Used to offer free internet email, usenet news and the jewel in the crown - web browsing by email!!

Those were indeed the days..
