hey, so where did you get/how much did you pay for your can opener?

so i spent $10 each on 2 different can openers, both are too jiggly so they don't clamp, rendering them useless after 1x each.

they were the only 2 models available at my local grocer, i think i might have to check at the google for a fucking real can opener.

    prolly gonna be what $20?

crazy. gonna be in for like $40+ for a fucking can opener by the time i get a good 1

I spent $25 but it was imported and was thus a rip off but they do not have normal ones where I live.

.05 cents, it was .10 but the Salvation Army store is 50% off on fridays. Same model the sell at Macy's.

i have to mention that an adult has offered another adult $5000 on this board at this time just to show up face to face AND that person hasn't even taken the dude up on the 5 grand and somehow this thread blows your mind?

did you just run it through the dishwasher after you got it?

                      seems easy enough.

My mom has a can opener that opens cans in a way that you can use the lid to reseal them afterwards. I don't know how much it is or what brand, but it's pretty cool if you can find one like that.

(although I'm sure my mom wasn't stupid enough to buy a $35 can opener - you can probably find a good smooth edge one like that at Marshall's or TJ Maxx for $5).

Actually I clean it the same way every month.

I let it soak a few minutes in a super diluted bleach solution in water and then scrub it with a toothbrush, rinse it off and put it back in the drawer.

Same solution I use on my cutting boards and such.

The best can opener ever made, it was given to me by the Army.

Funny thing is, I still use it from time to time.

THAT is a super can opener. using the top again is a great idea.

see, we have a chihuahua and buy him the good healthy dog food made in america, but it takes him like a week to get through a can, so using the top again would be perfect!

you can get an old school one for like $2.99...what's the point of paying more? You'd spend more time gearing one up to an electric can opener and opening it...than opening one manually.

(what is wrong with me for reading this thread and then even posting in it? ...back to making banners).

you didn't read this thread, or missed the part where i mentioned that i tried purchasing the 2 types of cheap can openers at the only place i frequent that has can openers.

it seems silly to go on a search for an even cheaper one.

at times I have opened cans with a knife and a stone....but never really had issues with normal household openers...

they were the only 2 models available at my local grocer, i think i might have to check at the google for a fucking real can opener.

                                                          prolly gonna be what $20?

Fold up some aluminum foil until you get a square about 3x3 inches and about 1/4 inch thick or as little as 1/8th when compressed. Run you blade though it until you have gone through entire wheel. This will keep your blade sharp. Oh it works for scissors too, just make assorted cuts.
