My whole point was that this candidate for "Change" actually came off as being a smidge different than the other puppets, but that he seems to have his own agenda within the context of the neo-con agenda; he'll let them let him do what he can while the dogs of war are released overseas and being prepped for whatever might happen here, with the hope that it won't come to the point that they'll be unleashed here, as they seem to be prepping for. They're going to call it the "American Spring" or the "New Patriot Spring" or some damn thing...

Clinton, like most dems if not all of dem before Obama, actually left the office with a budget surplus. Only Republicans who refuse to tax appropriately but still spend and hypocritically apply "big government" to cultural and social targets produce deficits - and they have now lost all control with DHS oversight of everything and military involvement or sub-contracting everywhere else. It's crazy...

Sarah Palin was in the water (and McCain had one foot in the grave).... I've said before, if he had a different running mate and there was no concern about his health, he may have won. I think he had bad campaign management and a ton of bad advice. At times it looked like he was doing certain things because he was told to, not because he wanted to.

The problem with the Republican party is they just can't seem to give us an alternative to vote for.. and they are all over the place when it comes to their message.. it seems alot of people become a Republican based on one or two things they believe strongly in, even if they disagree with everything else.. They really need to get their act together..

Lately I almost want to switch from being an Independent to a Democrat to distance myself from the embarrassment of being near Republicans just by remaining in the middle. It's crazy, assuming that putting your employer out of business is the best way to get ahead. Some people believe that punishing business owners like ourselves is NOT the best thing thing the people we employ. It's crazy if you believe that $4 gas and $12 light bulbs are better for poor people than $2 gas and 25 cent light bulbs.

For poor people, only makes sense to vote republican if you think that having a job is neuter than having a job, or if you think that being able to afford things (like gas, food) is better than not being able to afford things.

That is a typo of sorts. There are more people out of query today than when Obama took office. Obama's average unemployment rate is 25% higher than Bush's. Today's rate is not 25% higher than January 09, though.

There is a number buried in today?s government labor report that deserves closer examination: 35,000. That?s the net number of private sector jobs created during the Obama administration to date. That?s right, it?s a positive number. After the worst economic disaster to befall the United States in 80 years, that?s a number that maybe we should be applauding. Remember: The private sector hemorrhaged more than 2 million jobs in the first three months of 2009 alone. The hole was deep.

Unfortunately, it?s still a tiny number, and it is dwarfed by a much larger figure: 607,000. That?s the number of public sector jobs ? federal, state and local ? that have been lost since Obama took office. It?s a story that probably isn?t getting told enough about the Obama administration: Big government keeps getting smaller.

But the real eye-opener comes when we compare Obama?s numbers to George W. Bush?s. In Bush?s first term, the economy shed 913,000 private sector jobs! 913,000! The only thing that saved Bush?s first term from being a complete economic disaster, in terms of employment, was robust public sector growth: The economy added 900,000 government jobs. One wonders: Without the massive growth in the public sector during Bush?s first term, would he have been reelected?

This is interesting for a number of reasons. First, it punches a big hole in the theory that Bush?s tax cuts were responsible for boosting employment during his first term. Let?s also recall that the Bush recession (which he inherited from Clinton) was far, far milder than the near-Depression Obama inherited from Bush. In that context, Obama?s performance resuscitating the private sector has been miraculous. The Washington Post published an article criticizing Obama for not doing enough to resist job losses in the public sector, without fully acknowledging the political impossibility of additional stimulus after the first round, but we haven?t heard all that much over the years about how the growth of government saved Bush?s bacon.

And anyone who thinks Romney or Obama can solve that is a fool. Take the debt out of the budget to quickly and the country collapses. Tax cuts in the hope of stimulating growth, cutting back on public spending and a lot of what is being promised will deliver ruin. America and the West needs investment in goods it can sell to keep people working.
