Funny Gallery Submitting Story...

Just curious on opinions about this.

I submit a gallery to a certain website (not going to say who it is cause they are normally pretty cool). They email me back that the gallery is too busy, so I strip it down some and resubmit back along with an explanation. It's accepted but put in the wrong category so I notify them of that and then they tell me the gallery is no longer accepted cause they are going to be using the content themselves in a couple of weeks.

Not trying to be a cry baby, but thinking this might start a nice firestorm of conflicting opinions in a thread.

Will not confirm or deny who the site is cause like I said they are normally pretty cool and it's nice to still have places to submit to for free - oh yeah, they don't charge for submitting so I guess that info should be in here too. This fact is kind of important, but I still did a lot of work trying to find content for that category from that sponsor that wasn't being used.

Just dying to hear opinions on this. Expecting two extremes at least!

My conclusion is 1) fire off crap to everyone, cause anything that takes more than 10 seconds to do in this biz doesn't pay off 2) Don't have any consideration for anyone (Really, I had no idea?), and sell content that can't be copied or pirated and/or must be consumed - cams, dating, prick pills etc...

It's their website so they can decline you for whatever reason they like. If the content is sponsor provided I'm affraid they can use It too for them selves thus cutting out the middle man, which is where this industry is going more and more.

A long time ago when I used to submit galleries I used to pay to get top listings all over the place (long before paying was the in thing to do). One specific site, a guy I actually know, was selling me spots 5-10 on his very large MGP site. One day I look at the site and realize that what he's doing is taking the 5 sponsors that I pay for top listings, knowing that if I'm paying they must be making sales, then making his own galleries and listing them in spots 1-5 right above mine. What a dick!

Ditto, payed for spots then visit to find my galleries, listed underneath FHG's for the same sponsor my galleries listed way lower than when i first started and then watching listings that would make sales go away. SUCKS considering the one I am remembering was pretty expensive for a submitpass.

Oh well, then they wondered why I didn't renew my year long prepaid passes with them.. lol

And so you buy spots for something that does not convert for awhile.. and when the owner tries to pull this shit, none of it ever converts, then you put back what does convert but you say something like you're listing this because it's a friend you're trying to help even though his site sucks and doesn't convert

See that would have worked

I have been in a similar situation. Many years ago I used AFF on a lot of my galleries. After much trial and error I came up with a kick ass text ad that pulled hits like mad and converted like crazy. I started using it on my galleries. A month later half the TGPs I submitted to mysteriously had that exact same text ad on their sites. When I contacted them and asked them about it they said they got it from the sponsor banner page. Of course it wasn't in there and when I told them it was something I made for myself they either didn't respond or just told me they would make sure to give me good listings. Not long after conversions started to drop so I switched to a different sponsor.

So you do think this is a cool way to operate? Just curious. I'm a master of sarcasm. There are also scrapers and stuff so you can just get all the info you need from a rip off domain and swap links out to yourself even if you guys think you own the net or something...

See this is why guys like the guy who told how to screw that tube site shouldn't be banned LOL

Free Ones is one of the best sites online, in my opinion. Even without fresh content, I would go back regularly. Not to say they should stop updating!

Yeah, but you don't always get sign ups right away. (not bashing just saying). haven't had a Shemp, Tommy or Richard's Realm account in a while but they usually covered the nut at least, and the hun will boost your alexa ranking HUGE at the very least if you get a few acceptances in a month from one particular domain.

Like I said not bashing. Cool site, but just stating a truth.

You don't have to excuse yourself all the time, I can handle criticism ;)

It comes down to what works for one might not work for another and vice versa. Besides that I would not compare FreeOnes with Shemp or the Hun as we run a whole different model.

You have to if you want them to do anything and/or be accepted. It all depends on where you are submitting to of course. Some places just care about the link back to them so of course not to those places.

I don't submit all the time though and just recently started up again. Haven't really done it in over a year except to a couple places
