You are right. I do work in the service industry, of sorts. Sometimes I get burned, sometimes I make a killing. If I went into every situation thinking that I was going to get burned, I would get burned a hell of a lot more than I do right now.
I have plenty of examples where I have bent over backwards to help out affiliates, building them custom tools and landing pages and got nothing in return. No traffic at all. Other situations where I did the same bending over backwards and the affiliate turned into a whale that stayed with me for years. Sometimes you score, sometimes you get screwed.
That's what the service business is. It's good for some people, some it's not. It sounds like it's not for you.
