    Aged domain for sale continuously registered since 9/26/00

    I am selling the domain NationofPorn.com, which I have had continuously registered since 9/26/00. No traffic or PR, as I have just been sitting on it for 7 years and never got around to developing it. First $150 takes this domain, Paypal only please (I don't fuck with Epass), which is pretty cheap considering the first couple years I had this it was registered at Register.com, they of the $35 domain registrations and renewals It is currently at Godaddy so free push to your Godaddy account, and I just renewed it so it is good until 9/26/08.               It's been continuously registered sine 9/00 and the SEO guys will tell you aged domains give you an advantage. I have about that much in it for registration fees since I had it at Register.com the first few years so I'm pretty much just looking to get that back...

                              that makes no sense, so a site that has been around since 1996 loses any age relevancy bonus vs. a 7 month old site if they decide to move hosts?

                                      there is no source for that, it is misinformation spread by wannabe seo experts and I even think google at one time tried to spread this bullshit knowledge around to scare people

                                          The money you put out to keep it registered since Y2K was YOUR overhead expense during that period and doesn't add to the resale value of the domain. Its non-refundable and comparable to rent on a property.

                                          What advantage would the SEO guys say it gives you? Without traffic, reciprocal links, content or any sort of development (as you say) - its basically valueless except to someone who wants the specific domain name.

                                                  I think you are looking at it from a pessimistic negative view. The value is not in the "specific domain name", it is in the fact that an aged domain might fit a general domain name concept, one that might fit just as well as thinking up a brand new name and registering it.
