Hack for GOOGLE ANALYTICS: how to get the full referring url

    http://www.reubenyau.com/google-anal...referring-url/

You can use either the A) user defined report OR b) you can hack the analytics code.

    Enjoy!

I tried Google Analytics for a month and couldnt get it to work.
It worked for 3 days, then would stop working for a few days, then back to working again. I didnt change code or anything.

damn, that's cool. Now if only they'd make a hack where you could not only see the full url but you could click on it and view the actual page that referred the click. Then analytics would be perfect IMHO.

Yeah, not being able to click the referring link and visit the site sucks. Having to copy and paste is pretty annoying.

Duh. Just noticed for the first time that if you click the referring url it takes you to a page with a link that says "Visit this referring link". Doh!

my biggest issue with google analytics is that I can't export more than 500 lines of data at a time. One of the few sites I use google analytics on have something like 10k different search terms it has been found through - and I want to analyze them, but I can't be bothered exporting more than 20 times to do it..

Yeah, but that link is like 2 clicks deep into the ref data. still annoying. And it doesn't work with the search engine urls. My server stats will show hits from a search for "dildo sex" for example and I can click that and go right to the search results page for "dildo sex". That's what I'm looking for.

Hmmm that's odd, maybe just a server glitch on their end. I use it for all my sites and it works smoothly.

Google is introducing a combo Urchin/Analytics server side package in the next few months.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...
