    Hows your handwriting?

    When I was at school, pre 1984, it was pretty good...

    Since then I use a keyboard - and type - then, when I need to write a 'Birthday Card' (As an example) it looks like a spastic with crippled hands has paid a spider to walk into an inkwell, and then wander across the card!

    Am I alone in the loss of this basic skill?

      Probably you are not alone. If you don't use your skill for a long time, you lose it.

      You can try practicing to copy good-looking writing, like below.

                                      I have a shit memory so write things on a notepad all the time. Writing is ok and anybody else can read it too but it's not all neat like it was at school.

                                      I know what you mean about writing like a spastic though - I can remember writing a postcard a couple of years ago that was like I was trying to use my brain coupled with someone else's hand.

                                                                                          my handwriting and printing has gone to shit - sometimes i'll rip up checks i've written because they embarass me.

                                                                                          i had pretty good handwriting until somewhere in the high school years i just began to scrawl my own version of shorthand.
                                                                                          I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!
