Some people aren't talking about the leaders. They are just generalizing the United States. Whether they say stuff about how the US is so great or how the US is filled with lazy idiots. It's just generalizing a population based on imaginary lines drawn in the ground. I'm not talking leaders, I'm talking those that stereotype 300 million people because their passport says they're from the United States.
If everyone hates The United States of America

As for the first para - try taking in more than a measly 7000 Iraqis who are now refugees into this mythical promised land where people are "flowing" in to be governed by a lunatic who is hell-bent on depleting all lifestyles. And, you are welcome to take back the hundreds of 1000's of US escapees - tho most are nice people with a braincell and sense (along with a small element of the criminal fratenity)
As for the second para - this has got to be a first from the truth stable - no country is perfect - agree

Im going to take a good guess that you would rank as a idiot against my education and yours sortie.
I expanded the number 6-12 as the more countries you have visited meant the more experience you should have with 6 as a minimum .
I will also take a better guess based on your comment that I have visited more countries than you have,so I would just shut up now to save yourself looking stupid against a woman(think logical as you say!)

Please stop owning yourself.

Got ya PK. OK, take a look at the banality of GFY and see where the idiocy is coming from. I can't see many people from other countries (tho there have been a few) talking such utter crap about their country - have you??Some people aren't talking about the leaders. They are just generalizing the United States. Whether they say stuff about how the US is so great or how the US is filled with lazy idiots. It may be the net "enabled" the dumb to have a voice, but it can be fairly embarassing and they are not good advocates for any country. That type of conduct, if sustained, can leave people to think a whole nation is equally stupid. It's obvious where this comes from - lack of education or sub-standard education.
Only my
but have nothing either way to say about my country of nationality - and I sure would never be boring a chat board about issues such as domestic politics etc.
Individuals are the same the world over - some may have very honorable values (often the most modest and they can be relatively poor). Just thinking of one asshole now (he was from the EU) - and at a meal with us and where we were eating with a couple from the US. That guy was a friggin embarassment and clearly had a total despising of anything "US" to the level of being offensive. His ignorance lasted so long - till he was removed from the table and we apologized to these folks for his crap conduct and assured them that this was not a norm. So, ignorance and bullshit is not a US exclusive - it's worldwide.
We are all in the same melting pot and have to excuse the ignorant and arrogant - screw em

I'm not going to slam you on the board because I didn't like it when guys ran Jane Burgess off the board by being mean. But I doubt you have a better education than me unless you have a PHD. I've traveled to 5 countries.
I don't credit anyone with great travel if they traveled 12 countries in Europe because that's like a trip down south for people in america.

It amazes me that people are saying there's another country better than the US, our current government notwithstanding. Name any set of criteria by which to measure the greatness of a country and the US will be number one for most categories and top 5 for the rest. That's just the way it is and anything else is just jealousy.

It's just the way the world works now. I don't have a problem with it personally.Comment

Heh, I was driving on I-10 down near El Paso... the fucking border patrol has a checkpoint that forces ALL the traffic into it for a visual inspection. Fucking hotter than hell out there and they have this guy at a little weigh-station type thing checking for illegals. I offered the agent a coke from the cooler, he wouldn't accept it saying they have rules against gifts. Poor thing. Nice guy though.
I think the border patrol agent was the only white person I saw in the El Paso area. The rest were Mexys. I bet 3/4 of them were illegals. So yeah, we've already lost at least the southern half of Texas.Comment

The American Dream is a welfare check in every mailbox and 5 kids on welfare per household? I don't think so.Comment

It's because some cultures reach a carrying capacity of their local environment and thus need to spread out.
Personally, I think the whole planet should take a chapter from China and just mandate one sibling per family or something fucked up like that.Your post count means nothing.Comment

I seriously doubt anyone leaves any country to escape ignorance and bullshit - no country is a haven from ignorance and bullshit
People are responsible for their own conduct - some do so and have a clue of how to behave, others don't seem to have this ability. It don't matter which country they come from - it's the individual who choses to behave whatever way.
Only my
, but also does not matter whether they are rich, poor or whatever. I've done deals with people who lived a *very* simple lifestyle and who were very good judges of character, are honorable and who would shake hands on a deal and stick to it. Can think of one actual example related to a land purchase and where the vendor shook hands on a deal and was then offered... think over $200K extra by another potential purchaser. He declined the higher offer because he already shook hands on the deal - and never even mentioned this (I found out later). Some may say that is stupid, but it's an example of an honorable man who had his own "values". I can't see that happening with "dollar-chasers" or whatever other currency applies.
It's maybe more than eg ignorance or bullshit - it extends outwards to being honorable and behaving appropriately and matters little what country they originated from.Comment

It's probably true that a fair number of people in less fortunate countries may consider the US is a land of opportunity Mike, but suspect that's where it ends.
The truth is that no industrialized country has anywhere near the level of opportunity which exists in various other parts of the world - especially for anyone with access to investment funding using currencies of industrialized countries. It's almost embarassing to begin to compare the differences/benefits.Comment

Quite right.
Most of us actually hate US policies toward the rest of the world, especially double-standard.
For example, 'X' country can have weapons of mass destruction but 'Y' cannot have.
When 'X' country bombs a country/nation and kills thousands of civilians, because it just suspect that they can be a problem in future, its patriotism .. but when 'Y' country do the same, call them terrorists.
etc etc etc
