    IsAnyoneUp.com is down for good...

It survived attacks from Anderson Cooper and Facebook, but the infamous revenge porn site Is Anyone Up was shut down today after Hunter Moore, the site's 30-year-old proprietor, sold it to an anti-bullying website. Moore told us in an interview that he got burnt out on ruining young women's lives. Now, he says, he just wants to help people. We definitely did not see this coming.

Until today, Is Anyone Up was a place for internet degenerates to anonymously submit nude pics of people they wanted to publicly humiliate. Moore would post their photos, along with a screenshot of their Facebook profile and some choice commentary. This caused untold distress to the exposed, but Moore reveled in being a dick, boasting just last week in the Village Voice about all the money he'd make if someone killed themselves because of his site.

But at noon today, the Is Anyone Up link suddenly redirected to an announcement that the anti-bullying website Bullyville had bought the domain name in order to shut it down.

"The problem of IsAnyoneUp.com is now solved," wrote Bullyville founder James McGibney in a statement. "In its place, BullyVille.com will exist to help people who are being bullied solve their problems through cooperation and thoughtfulness, rather than abuse."

In a phone interview today, Moore told us that he was burnt out after a year and a half of keeping his digital sewer pipe flowing just this side of the law. Especially tiring: having to screen the rising flood of user-submitted content, which had become increasingly disturbing as his site's fame grew thanks to an appearance on Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show and scores of media profiles.

It's an epidemic they'd like you to think. Pussy little kids now. When I was in school the older kids beat us up and we didn't cry to the principle or we'd get it even worse next time.

Yeah, I don't understand that part. As for it being an industry, it's a big fad that can be cashed in on. IsAnyoneUp.com is now a ad site for background checks, finding out who is looking you up and dating.

It's pretty ridiculous now. See: http://www.bullyville.com/?page=celebrity

Hunter Moore must still have some serious following because his IsAnyOneUp Twitter account had/still has over 96,000 followers. I reckon that where he went wrong was to go onto popular US television and skite and spruik what he was doing. Not a good look at all!

He should have kept his head down and not let his ego take control. If he was making the supposed $13,000 a month from the site, then perhaps he should have operated it in more of a professional manner, rather than sooking about the amount of kiddie porn which he had to sift through on a daily basis. Get real!

At the end of the day it was him and him alone who decided what was presented on his website. I went there twice also, and I only saw generally over-weight, tattooed adults of both genders presented on there. Pretty tacky, vengeful stuff!

It didn't do much for me - cya Hunter Moore. You won't be missed by me!

wow he was only making $13,000? Had he incentized his site he could have made 50k easy. Sure it wouldn't last more than a few months, but he coulda raped those months, especially with his content.

That dude and the guy that ran the ads were both retarded. In their minds they were not an adult oriented site. Your showing blowjob pics, butthole and full naked body pics and you expected you were gonna sell mainstream ads? They spent more time arguing they were not a porn site, eventually they sold ads to porn companies but then said the porn Companies were all shady and that they were anti porn. Ha ha good riddance

When you were growing up bullying didn't follow you home. There were no social networks and you didnt have to deal with it everytime you signed onto your computer. It was also only one or two kids usually involved. Now with the push of a button your whole school knows about what the bully is saying about you. Also guessing you didn't have an iPhone that kept you constantly tethered to your bullys. Going home from school was an escape. Not the case anymore.

Technology also creates a disconnect where the kids who would never physically bully someone in person - will do it electronically.

It's a different game now, old man.

For sure. The best part is when he told some press outlet that his uncle is a cop and looks up all the people that are submitted to make sure they're 18.

But Moore is careful about photos of underage content. He said he compares an image's embedded EXIF data that includes a file-creation date, and cross-references that timeline with the person’s dates of birth. He also told the Voice, "We Google everything about everybody before we put them up. My uncle is a cop, so I can check how old everybody is and their records and shit."

Just picture the ridiculousness of that statement.

I am surprised the site stayed up as long as it did.

The anti bully site look like the same crap as cheaterville which I think is from the guys that are really behind thedirty.com

Give me a break. Someone called me names online! Big deal! I'd rather get picked on online than get the shit kicked out of me.

I don't get the idea of buying the site in order to shut it down.

To me that just sends the message to people telling them if they copy the site, then a payday could be coming soon.
                                                    I'm out.
