Pap, that is my thought as well, bots. I suspect that some people are running bots just looking for new threads to post garbage comments into automatically to spam their sigs (and collect their pay), and also from the paranoid people who have to check their name, their program name, each of their domain names and 101 other things every hour to make sure that nobody is talking bad about them.

Whatever it is, I can only say that since this change has come in, the board has not timed out, posting is easy, and there also seems to be less crap on the board. All good, I guess.

That's the last thing we need. The worst boards out there are those boards with tons of different sub-forums.

If that's true then it sounds like the solution is in adding captcha into the search form.

I used it to search for threads about Red Light Revenue sometimes, but mostly to look up threads on niches and ideas that I'm working with right now.

Yes but the fact is on the internet 'search' is a standard feature for any site that holds this much data.

Surfer forums bigger then this manage to have a working search AND a fast forum.

As users of this site, WE are the ones who have made this site valuable. They sell banner spots at the top, small ones at the bottom, and for christs sake they sell the entire skin - yet we, those same users the advertisers pay GFY to target apparently don't even deserve a working search feature???

We're getting the short end of the stick here. GFY makes a load of cash, and spends maybe %10 of that income on giving us a working board.

Unless something changes soon, mark my words, this site will be nothing but spam from programs, newbies, and surfers within 2 years. Real industry pro's will migrate to one of the many better working alternatives.
