No offense VIPimp, but I find it alot quicker posting on GFY to get a reponse than emailing programs, every program I have emailed and given them a heads up have never responded.
And posting it on GFY lets everyone else see who's doing what and then we can actually see if something is done about it.Comment

torrent site I think is a tougher fight than going after a direct download site like Megarotic or a Rapidshare type operation. Those two types are making a killing while actually receiving and hosting/publishing massive amounts of copyright infringed content. the same argument would be put forth that will be put forth by Viacom against YouTube and Google Video - that the DMCA 'safe harbor' provisions has created this mess and YouTube and all the others have exploited it to make billions of dollars at the expense of copyright owners. I hate how slowly the legal system crawls along. My fear is that a judge is going to say in short 'the law is the law - i'm not going to rewrite the law for you - your argument is with Congress - kthnxbye'
Torrent technoglogy is P2P - going after a tracker site like PureTNA or PirateBay is harder - all those sites have on them are torrent files, not the actual content - a tougher concept for a judge or jury to understand and maybe tougher to find in favor of the plaintiffs.
If the courts don't decide in favor of Viacom then the only hope any creator/publisher has is that Congress tears up the DMCA and rewrites it holding all the sleazebags, ISP's, hosting companies, USENET, torrent trackers, search engines, who under the current DMCA have been given 'safe harbor' protection on copyright infringements by their users. And it will still be useless unless the rest of the world adopts the same law.
Don't forget that Google is now by far the biggest torrent tracker site on the planet.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!Comment

and now that i have looked at the torrent scene and tried it out - it's far less of a threat than the Megarotics, Tube sites, and Rapidshares. Surfers are still pretty dumb, torrents take some know how that a lot of surfers just don't have the brains and patience for - Megarotic and Rapidshares are easy enough for even the slowest mouth breathing moron and Alexa will prove that.
I tried downloading some movies off PureTNA - i think i tried 3 or 4 - one took about an hour and the other ones literally took days to download. If I was a fan of a particular porn site I wouldn't be messing with torrents, I'd join the site. Or head to some well known forums with links to Rapidshare hosted files.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!Comment

I agree with you, the forums and tube sites that make it easy for even the absolute newbs to steal tons of content are a growing and bigger problem if left unchecked. Not that torrents should be left alone, but it seems like some major culprits are not being brought to task often enough.

I'll be honest and say they're removed my content asap, however, I don't have the time to track down my content daily, which I'm doing. I spend around 3hrs a day looking for my shit

OK... Question here....
We all know that the woman in Minn lost her case, she was sharing a bunch of music files, entire files, via Kazza or something ... Ok, she was giving out the entire file illegaly to someone else.
But, this is the part that has me thinking about the torrent issue.
1. the Torrent itself is just a pointer/marker... No part of that file is our copyrighted work.
2. no 1 person is delivering the resulting file to you, your getting little pieces of code from various sources. (And resharing those pieces as you get them)
3. The file is worthless, untill it's fully downloaded (This may or maynot be the case but from what I have seen partial downloads result in unreadable garbage)
I guess my point here and main question is who do you go after? I guess you would have to go after the original sharer of the file, as he really is the only person you could PROVE had the entire file and shared it. (Fortunatly finding the original uploader should be simple enough as these guys tend to "tag" the files they share.
Going after the original uploader of a file to rapidshit/megaupload would seem to be a better battle, nailing them for ever instance of the files being downloaded. At least the entire file is actually there and being shared.
Or Going After one of the other "tube" sites where the file actually is there and being shared.

Yea alot quicker to post on gfy after biz hours because we know that most programs dont check their emails/icqs but rather check gfy all day long.
All you had to do his send me a icq/aim or email which you would have received a reply within hours at the max, with the link to the site and your concerns. You know that the site is pass protected, so why wouldnt you have sent me the link with the affiliate id in it.. not 1 person msgd me with the details of the links or anything, even after my reply in this thread.
Anyway, there should be NO ads/links to FreakBucks on that or anyother file sharing sites like that. FreakBucks does not allow that form of promotion, never has and won't.
Also dont you find it odd that the one company that probably spends the most on producing their own content is advertising on that site right above all their content links? I also notice you have not added them to your "scumbag" list... while you are at it, also add circuit city, ford, dell to that list as I saw their banners flying up there when I checked out the site.
I would appreciate if you remove those screen cap images from your server as well. As those should not be showing there any longer.

Yep, the music industry changed to this strategy as well and since nobody wants to be exposed for downloading/uploading porn, the effect should be even better...
But Mutt is right, the huge forums like pornbb.org combined with rapidshare/megaupload are a bigger threat, since there are download managers for these filehosts allowing even non-paying users to download as much as they want at full speed with no waiting time...and it often takes just a few hours from a paysite update till it's available in a "full paysite xyz rip" thread which often offers the whole members area.Comment

security will always be breakable, if your customer can view your content, then there will always be a way to copy and share that content
the only solution is to shut down as many thiefs as possible when it comes to forums and sharing hosts, and for torrents or p2p going after a few uploaders will have a huge effect as someone else said
