Sure, you can read an affiliate ID added as a flashvar then pass that through the URL. For security, add code in the SWF for validating the flashvar. Don't permit arbitrary characters or text strings. As most IDs are just numbers, and nearly always a set length, the code can check for these.

here is your code for the SpringThomas Flash banner - how is that banner carrying your affiliate ID? there's nothing in your code referencing your affiliate link URL..........so how is it doing it?

That's just the code you're reading off my site. if you click that banner I have the link embedded within it and you will hit my code. I implanted it within flash. Again, I'm not a flash wiz or anything so I just use the tutorials and get my code that I need. If you're trying to get a code without paying for adobe or at least stealing it you need someone a lot smarter than me. Was just trying to help you best I could.

If you click the game at the end you will also get redirected with my code. It happens within flash itself if you have the program to make it I mean.

P.S. I know it works cause I can read it in my dogfart stats, just in case you are wondering.

P.S.S. I could never download actual flash code ever, just the code that embeds it. You should probably read up on html 5 cause that is the future I am hearing.

oh u opened the swf file in Flash yourself. doesn't that program have Flash banners with code so you don't have to do that yourself?

95% of affiliates wouldn't go to the trouble you did, most don't even have Flash software.

I did it trying to teach myself about flash. Wouldn't probably do it again. You are correct. Most programs do have that, but can't understand why they can't tell you how to use it. Most are Iframe flash banners if I'm not wrong.

I just wanted to know something so was fucking around. Dont' think I did that bad, but now it's supposed to be useless cause of html 5. We shall see

yep most programs use iframe flash banners.

not useless, the big tubes wouldn't be using them if they were. html5 is no replacement for Flash - maybe in 5 years it will.

Anyways so what are you trying to do? Did my code help you at all? I could probably upload to your site if you are doing what I showed you and you would get the code by proxy if you really need it that way.

no, thanks anyway, but i'm trying to provide affiliates with Flash banners without them having to open up a Flash file to insert their linking code. so your code won't help me. appreciate the info tho.
