It has way more to do with people having too much pride to ask for help than anything else. It is shameful for them to be on the public handout,and when that stops, the shame is very intense indeed.

Yes it does. Lets clear something up I said homeless or near homeless I do believe. Now back to the issue.
A very naughty and not so secret secret is that such things happen in assisted living/senior citizen/old age homes all the time. Even at many where people pay the place quite a bit each and every month, or the old person had it preset up via a trust or so forth. Many die of starvation, dehydration, and serious infections. The lucky ones at some of these places get inspected when they are just covered in decubitus ulcers (link) and if super lucky maggots (yes that is lucky cause maggots only eat dead flesh and do clean wounds super well).Comment
