After suspending my sites without warning because they're using "too much resources" I told them I'd be moving to a new host.
I asked for ssh access to be unblocked so my new hosts could migrate my files, but since then they haven't responded to my support ticket. It's been 4 hours and meanwhile my sites are still down.
Does anyone know if it's normal practise for Hostgator to leave customers hanging once they decide to leave? Seems fairly petty and unprofessional of such a large host.

The fact is that if this is your living, or even real good beer money, you gotta get your shit together. Spend 2-3 months salary on hardware that will last you for the next 5-6 years. Do what you have to do.
