    Nubie asks.... SummerTime Blues???

First off.. I am new at this and this my first time finding this site so... thank you GFY and thanks in advance to any friends who are willing to help with advice.. now and in the future... OK...

I've been sending buttloads of traffic and tons of sales to the ARS system (adult movie station). Been making a mint for the past 4 months and as a result am 2 weeks away from a monster movie site with an affiliate program of our own...

Suddenly, the past two weeks sales have dropped 50% and this week is down 75% BUT, my traffic is jumping off the chart. Is the summer slowdown I hear them talking about for real? Is this a bad time to launch my site? I just thought they were lame excuses for shaving...

    Thank you for any comments!

In my experience the summer slowdown does exist, but to nothing like the extent of a 50% drop in sales. I find sales dip a bit and traffic drops too... but really if you're seeing sales collapse that much, the summer isn't the only reason for it. IMO.

I personally think the slowdown is real. But a 50% drop overnight, no way. Other things can cause that, but no way do I think that the summer slowdown is one of them.

Thank you Fish! BTW - What kinds of other things could cause this?

Loads of things could cause it. My advice would be to try some other movie sponsors, and change your ads around, experiment a bit.

Without seeing your site or knowing anymore about it, there isn't anything else I can really think of telling you...

As far as your own paysite/affiliate site is concerned: go for it. If you work hard through the summer and you've got a decent site you'll get through no problem.

$IKES..I Jive here.. I would go with Dan/uk's idea..
you said ars? adultrevenueservice? is this what your saying?
I wouldn't play in there arena! they are to tight assed to give much in the way of money in the summer months..(my opinion)
try a few other sponsors if you remember what you were converting at before you should perform this evenly through out the summer months perhaps with a slight drop in sales do to summer..not as some claim %50 not at all.. also try to go with a fairly clean sponsor minus the popup hell out there that has increased and there sleeper consoles,if your aware of this? this doesn't benifit the webmaster only the sponsor stealing hits..
if there using this I don't even sit next to them..plus htere banned
on most linkswaps, crashing browsers, frame freezes, etc..
it actually a shoddy attempt for any sponsor grabbing straws
doing htis method? it makes then less worthy? again just my
2 canadian cents.. I've only seen a %20 drop over all in my sales. good luck.
