Why does old XP laptop seem faster than my brand new Vista one?

    Why does old XP laptop seem faster than my brand new Vista one?

    I just installed a fresh copy of Windows XP media center on my old machine:
    VGN-S360: 1.7 GHz Intel Pentium M, 1GB RAM

    and it seems a lot faster than my new Vista one:
    VGN-CR123E: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300, 2 GB RAM,

    I have cut back all the Vista fancy GFX stuff and preloaded VAIO crap but still I don't get on with it.

    Should I format it and stick XP on? I heard Vista supports Dual core cpu's better and other stuff so maybe I should stick with it?

          Same question arises with every new release - and that's not just a fluke... it's a method *give it a thought or two*

          And "Vista supports dual core better"... bwahaha!! It (ab)USES dual core more maybe lol

                              nah I have been using my GF's dual core macbook and it makes me crazy it is kind of pretty though

                                  Guess what? you will not have any choice other than stick with Vista because Sony haven't made Windows XP drivers for the laptops that come with windows vista preinstalled
