What does intercept outgoing calls in the Android phone aps mean exactly?

In my android phone the app needed to run the entire system has a permission set that you cant change or block of course:

Intercept incoming calls, State name, and Identity

Read SMS or MMS, receive sms

    My location

I know this is used for legitimate purposes and stuff but lets say I download a DJ app my buddy made can he install those permissions and then listen to my outgoing calls, read my text messages, know my location, my name etc... or am I missing something?

Too many to name, I dont need all of them but there are four or five different apps needed to run the android system alone that ask for these permissions, look on your phone at settings, applications, manage applications, All, Click on each one and you can see what permissions they ask for.

Android system, Data collection, Data collector service, Data manager service, DataCollectorProvider, DataProfileService, any many more.

I didnt download any of these, they all come on the android phones. Like I said I know they need these permissions to route your calls and shit but how easy is it for them to invade your privacy and take advantage of those permissions.
