When Hill and Bill were in charge, we had cheap gas, lots of jobs, the economy was good, gold and silver were cheap, the stock market was on fire and we didn't have as many people in the world spending every waking moment trying to figure out how best to kill everyone in our country.

                        The real problem will come when the Saudis decide they want Euros for the oil and/or the Chinese refuse to buy our debt. The economy will crash bigtime.

                        We are being turned into a third world nation slowly but surely.

                            Thats exactly right. There was still debt but the country was running with a surplus on the budget allowing the debt to be paid down.

                                            Seriously Mike - it's friggin bad when Bush has the stupidity to even comment on the economy and utter rubbish like "the economy is in good shape" (quote from him during the last 48 hours). He just uttered another lie.

                                            The dollar is crap for good reason - ie - it's not worth as much due to debt and lack of performance blah. Even the markets are only producing around 3% a year - compared to around five-fold that of other western countries.

                                            If that is "good shape" - it's easy to see how he went bust
