Being the adventures of a young man whose principal interests are rape, ultra-violence and Beethoven

      Perfect explanation

Some friends of mine wrote a script about Kubrick and the Moon Landing Hoax. Should make for a good flick if we can get it made.

        Spend you some brain.

One of my favorites. The woven tapestry of words and images create a unique movie that is as much art as it is entertainment. It's supposed to be disturbing and on different levels. It creates a loathsome character and turns into almost a hero of sorts.

Perhaps I should have said I don't see what the fuss is about.
OK I get ya now. You have to place it in its proper time to understand it, the movie came out in I think 1971 and for its time it was so overtly violent that it garnered an X rating.

by todays standards the violence isn't as big of a deal. As social commentary it still holds up as a great one, one of the top ten Libertarian themed movies of all time in my opinion.

it also helped establish Kubrick as an American Master

I didn't find it that disturbing, really. Plus, it isn't THAT violent - it tends to be sporadic scenes rather than constant.

It is a fantastic film, though.

You just can't beat the scene where he beats the lady to death with the giant penis sculpture.
