spun content can still be kind of useful in building backlinks but i agree with the tabasco/signupdammit in that G filters this out fairly easily.

Your right. Google obviously compares every piece of text online to every other piece of text online, as well as every possible variation of a paragraph of text spun to 100% unique... because they have a datacenter the size of Canada to make that happen in real time in addition to the other trillion or so iterations per day, across their datacenters worldwide.
I don't believe in all these "SEO plugins" - but i can say with absolute certainty that there is nothing wrong with spun text.
