    I broke my little toe

    FUCK - for such a small toe it's fucking painful. I broke it Friday night - straight to the ER. What a crappy weekend!

          Straight to the ER? I figured there wasn't much they can do for a broken small toe other than maybe some drugs.

                  Yup I broke my toe once and stayed home and called a friend who's a doctor, he told me if i was to much in pain to pass by his place for a prescription but aside from that not much I could do.

                          They did what's a called a digital block where they insert a needle into your toe and make it numb to the point where you can't feel anything... and then snapped it back in place. Then they taped it up to my other toes.

                                          Ouch!...been there. Had the tailcone of a 500 gallon external fuel tank from an F-15 drop on my toe. Squashed my baby toe like a grape. Got the digital block, they cleaned it out, stitched it up and sent me home. Got a week off from work and another week of light duty.

                                              My baby toe seems to dislocate every once in awhile.. I either bang it or bump into something, look down and realize its sticking out sideways. But usually I just bend my toes and it seems to pop back in.

                                                          Yeah for a little toe it is damn painful when you break it. I broke mine the night before flying out to Vegas for InterNext 2006. Talk about bad timing, since in Vegas you do a lot of walking. I found a few drinks would help.

                                                                                                  anyways, yeah, i never went to the dr about it but one time i banged my little toe into my dresser right before work. it instantly hurt like hell but i still went into work somehow, thinking since i stubbed it that the pain wouldn't last that long. when i took my shoe off after work the whole toe was black, purple, and blue. it was disgusting. soooo painful. nothing they could do other than tape it to the toe next to it. it was february with a foot of snow on the ground but i was wearing flip flops because i couldn't wear shoes for a while.

                                                                                                                      I broke a little bone in my foot a few weeks ago and it STILL hurts. As CD stated, I actually did drop a hammer on it. I was trying to bring too much stuff up from the basement and gravity had the hammer fall. VERY embarrassing explaining it to the hospital.

                                                                                                                      This is the 2nd time I've broken that same foot so I knew they'd just tell me to ice it, wrap it and use crutches but it happened that AM and that night a friend of mine was so freaked out by how swollen it was, I was dragged to the ER.

                                                                                                                      Also have broken several of my toes - just tape it tight to the next one - wuss ;)

                                                                                                                                  Well... I had never broken anything before, my little toe was sticking out in the wrong direction... and I wasn't about to snap it back into place myself without some damn serious drugs.....

                                                                                                                                  Still hurts today and still hurts when I walk although the goofy shoe the gave me helps. I have a doctor's appiontment in the morning....
