I want to be able to make calls out from the computer as well, so basically there will be no telephone handset (the computer would need to activate the Bluetooth earpiece upon placing an outgoing call.)
I don't know much about Skype or other VoIP services or Bluetooth. I do use Google voice for some projects, but from what I can tell that does not have a calling application or Bluetooth capability, that is more or less a call forwarding/answering service.
Is this possible? What do I do?

Sly, Should work fine as long as your the device shows up on your computer and the bluetooth is connected. It then because the same thing as a plugged in headset. The bluetooth shouldnt have anything to do with the software working with it or not. They should all work.
