I think I have lost my connection to the common man. Actually, I am quite certain I never had one to begin with...

I have never watched an episode of 2 and a Half Men. I don't understand why somebody would. To me the show is very predictable and the acting is crap. The stories are juvenile. It was the most watched show for like seven years... I don't understand why.

I don't watch Jersey Shore(s?). I don't understand what the draw is. I couldn't see myself watching it at any time in my life. Not the most depressing times and certainly not the high points either.

I don't understand the latest craze in porn. Brutally fucking women. Pulling their mouth open... having them cry (or fake as though they are (or act as though they are))... I don't know why somebody would make this kind of porn and share it with others. It seems like it is made for crack addicts...

As time goes on it seems like my surfers are becoming zombies...

Was I a zombie at one point? Have I been stricken with the 1% herpes virus? An incurable disease where once infected you can never go back to being clueless?

I feel for the common man, the 99%'ers, but it is not like brothers taking care of one another. It is more like feeling sorry for somebody who was born with some kind of malady. I feel bad because he is content to give up thinking for himself. He'd rather let somebody else make his schedule and let somebody dictate his pay...

Anyway... If you are here at GFY I am happy for you. Hopefully you are on your way to becoming a self-made man/woman that dictates where you are going.

Just curious how you know 2 and a Half Men is predictable with crap acting and juvenile stories if you have never seen it?

I have never seen the show either (based only on the commercials it looks like something I would not be into) so I have no idea if it is good or not, but you seem to have strong opinions about something you have never seen.

I tried watching it once when some friends of mine put it on... I sat there for about 5 minutes before I said my goodbyes and went home for the evening.

Same thing happened with Friends... Many of my friends, at the time, used to get together and have rather large Friends watching parties... Bazaar... I understand getting together to watch UFC now and then or a title fight, but having 30 people over with munchies, drinks, etc for Friends? WTF?

Luckily I got the Friends people to start enjoying BBQ... So me and a few select "friends" would go out back and cook something manly while the pansies stayed inside and rubbed their wive's feet or some shit...

Please clarify whether you are referring to the Two and A Half Men with Charley Sheen, the one with Ashton Kutcher, or both?

J/K, never watched either one for a complete episode.

I did just finish watching Orgazmo on Starz while enjoying some Pineapple Kush on the couch. One of GFY's own appears in the movie (and was looking good) - none other than Far-L, plus an armada of porn stalwarts, including Ron Jeremy, and featuring South Park Creator Trey Parker.

At least here in nyc, a lot of girls had an unhealthy Sex In The City obsession. It was horrible.

I agree 100% about the show parties. I have a friend whose wife will have a group of friends over to watch the bachelor and the bachelorette. It never made sense to me. Like you I can see getting together for a big fight or a sporting event like having a Super Bowl party or something like that because it is a one time thing, but getting together to watch a show every week seems kind of strange.

Haha.... the people that used to watch Friends are the same people now throwing Bachelor/Bachelorette parties...

I need to figure out a way to make some money on them... hmm... Maybe I should throw the parties at my pad and made them huge and audacious... Something so extravagant you know you have to pay something... And feel OK with it...

Fuck... look at me... trying to figure out how to make money off of my friends... What an asshole I have become!

Time to go make some more blogs on candles, weight loss, male enhancement, etc... Somehow it is OK for me to make money off of their kind, just not them individually...?

I too can't imagine a "friends" party - why would I voluntarily spend time I can spend actually living on watching a prefabricated impotent sample of somebody else's non existing surreal polished simplified and dumbified pseudo life on TV.

As Jim Morrisson said, people these days get easily excited about all kinds of symbols, but inside they're emotionally dead.

You ask a chick out and she starts to freak out, and it's in 99 pct. cases a chick that watches all those shows and gets off on dreaming about all kinds of bullshit scenarios they serve.

Maybe since it's easier and doesn't require guts, the same as jacking off to a fantasy is easier than to try to live it.

yeah when friends became a hit, I knew I had lost touch... even turned down a gig working on the show
