I've been doing a lot of that. For people who aren't sure which version of Windows they have that's screwed up, they don't know the difference been being upgraded to Win7 and being upgraded to Mint. Firefox still works the same. Mainly they just notice it's faster, partly because they know longer have heavy anti-virus dlowing the net down. With distros like Mint or the way I set up CentOS for them, it just works and they are happy. I just have to show them where OpenOffice is.
Geeks who like to really understand and have full control like Linux, too. They ones who don't so much are the Windows experts who know all of the shortcut keys, but don't want to learn something new. Them and the gamers.
