This is, and has been, standard procedure in US politics and administrations for quite some time. Whether Republican or Democrat, they all do it, two sides of the same coin.

When I see people claim allegiance to either party, I find it quite amusing.

As long as people will be charge of shit, then there will be corruption. This is why I welcome my future robot overlords. They don't care about ripping off my tax dollars, as long as I put in a good, solid day in the mines.

Business is business. Both sides dole out mega funding to their buddies. No matter if it's different business. Thus TWO different sides of the SAME coin.

And I don't exactly see Obama administration rushing out to cut military spending either.

The right wing "talk radio" has been blasting this for months now. I just laughed as I recalled the mass amount outer circle cronyism that took place under Reagan. The man was always putting out fires.

“Yes, our military will be leaner, but the world must know the United States is going to maintain our military superiority with armed forces that are agile, flexible and ready for the full range of contingencies and threats,” Obama said.

"Maintaining superiority" isn't exactly the sort of rhetoric I'd expect from someone looking to put a damper in the "military industrial complex"

How many bases will be closing? How much less will be spent? Even if he cut $400 Billion from it, we would still be spending far more on military than any other country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...y_expenditures

Got a long way to go on that one. And talk is cheap, let's see it happen.

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
                          think about that

Anywhere near the $40 BILLION the Oil Companies save in tax breaks every year?

It depends on the type of cronyism... outer circle cronyism (hiring or contracts to friends, family, etc) when it relates to an "important job" is VERY bad, that's what Reagan did.

Every President has an inner circle, projects, ideas, states, shifting of budgets, etc, etc etc... go to these people. As long as the President isn't playing favoritism to one (or all) then it's fine. Bush Jr. was the President that abused this.

Agreed. We should help our allies in need, and defend our nation. But not try and police the world at our American taxpayer's expense

I am pro-military, it's a necessary institution. I've have many relatives who are veterans and many friends. The military has done a great deal of good for their lives. But the over bloated spending has to stop.

That should have been done 5 years ago, or never in the first place. Just because one administration does something, doesn't mean they are going to drastically change the face of the military complex and spending issue. They're just the one who gets credit for it. You cannot be this naive to think it was Obama's idea to do this.

Just because one administration does something, doesn't mean they are going to drastically change the face of the military complex and spending issue. They're just the one who gets credit for it. You cannot be this naive to think it was Obama's idea to do this.
this doesn't even make sense really.

anyways, whose idea was it then?
