Am I getting fucked? What would you do?
This might be kinda long, but i'll try to shorten it as much as I can...
So I'm talking to a guy on ICQ for a while, get to know him...He claims to be pretty rich from making blogs ect...One day he says "here man, take this! This is the Username/password to a blog, you can "have it". " The guy knows I dont know much at all, I'm just starting to learn now. He gives me the WP login to his blog and tells me to learn how to post and I can take whatever $ may come from it, "its yours"--he says. Here it is weeks later, uniques have gone from 2-3 a day to a decent amount. I've posted several times, traded several links, submitted to directories and all that good stuff. I learn of this little thing called "FTP Access" and another strange thing called "CPANEL" --Sarcasm if you cant tell... So, i ask him about these things and he runs, says "BRB" 200 times, actually gets mad at me for asking, then i gave him a complete online hossing and he had nothing else to say. He gets scared that im gonna fuck shit up so he changes WP login, but changed it back after I told him i wont mess with it.
Again, im learning more...I realize that I could easily build this site up to some decent traffic and decent $ then get my ass blocked on ICQ and get the WP login info changed and never hear from this guy again while he runs off making $ from my hard work. I gave him about 2 more chances to talk to me about FTP access, didnt even get into domain transfer talk yet. Again, he avoids me, stops responding on ICQ or says "Hey man, brb" then dissapears. My question is...what would you do? Would you just stop working on the site? Would you go for it and gain the experience and maybe make a few $ here and there? Would you post a thread with some of his info warning others to be careful doing business with him? He also told me 400x he was gonna pay me to do some work for him, but ran from me when i asked about it, but i never did any work...then out of nowhere he asks me to send him $42 to his epass to "pay my brother real quick" I dont know what doing too much would be in a situation like this because im so new to everything, so tell me what would you do in a situation like this? What would other GFY'ers think is appropriate in this situation? ---sorry for the long thread, i just wanted to get the details out there.
