You can't go buy a handgun without:
1) Having the proper license (renewed every few years)
2) filling out the proper forms
-providing proof of need, status at gun club
-getting the proper registration transfer
3) getting authority to transport it home
Scrapping the long gun registry just means that all the farmers don't have to register their rifles... Wow. Big win...
The registry is still being maintained for restricted and prohibited guns... nothing has changed on that front.
It's a useless victory, and I don't understand why Quebec is so fired up to keep it... it *only* applies to rifles.
