I have 110 handwritten blogs, all hosted on the same C class, 150 word posts, updated at least once a month. I work 15 hours a week on them and I do great !!! I did not get affected by the Panda update because all my content is fresh. No RSS feeds on them. My main focus is create new quality blogs, update and get backlinks. The main objective here is QUALITY.Comment

Another quick tip: Definitely trade links when you can in your related niches that are still updating and not RSS, unless it's a special case with custom feed from live cam models updated every 10 minutes or something similar... Also search for your targeted terms and for the blogs that come up on SEs, see if you can find a contact or trade link on the blog.
Someone I know only pushes trades on handwritten blogs and he drives 2 porches..

No clue, except that low bounce rate isn't always a good thing. If a surfer on my blog goes to the main page then clicks on a FHG first, that is seen as a negative bounce but it's still good for me since they're closer to a sale.
On the other hand, if a surfer goes to my blog an surfs through every page and gets off while still on the blog, that's seen as a good bounce but it's bad for you since the surfer got off without buying.
It all depends on what you're doing.

It's a March Madness/World Cup style single elimination tournament which will ultimately decide who is undoubtedly the hottest new porn star of the year.
This is the 2nd year. It started with 32 girls last year, there was no prize, there were no sponsors, and there was still a lot of participation.
This year I lined up an agency (OC Modeling) to sponsor b/c I felt that it would increase participation amongst at least their girls and would also provide the agency with a unique opportunity to increase their exposure to a plethora of hot new talent.
I also lined up your boy Geezer from over at B&B to supply the prize. Winner gets the $3K USD 24ct gold dildo and runner up gets the smaller one. The prizes also serve to encourage participation.

At the start of the tournament, the total combined # of Twitter followers for all 64 girls was 1,015,744. At the start of Round 2, the total combined # of Twitter followers for all 32 remaining girls was 807,192.
Why do those #s matter? Twitter is the primary medium that which the girls lobby for votes and total # of followers was a variable that weighted heavily in the secret formula that I used when determining the seedings thereby making it likely that the ones who make it to the championship will be the ones who have made the most tweets to the most total followers.
The data hasn't been fully analyzed yet, but so far many of the girls have retweeted my tweets, many of the girls have made additional tweets on their own to lobby for votes, and there have been cases where girls that whom I had not yet Tweeted were already working their fans. Girls have asked to have their profile pictures changed b/c they want to make sure that they are putting themselves in the best position to win. I've received mentions from their followers and I've received mentions from the followers of their followers. That's 4 degrees of separation and it would honestly not surprise me in the least if I were to get a mention from Kevin Bacon when it's all said and done.
Though the plan was entirely contrived, it was done so in a way to where word will spread virally in an organic type way. It's fun, people enjoy it, there's something in it for everyone, and I've also received a shitload of non-recip linkbacks. Best of all, voting for round two has not even finished yet and there are more bigger and way better promotions planned for the remaining rounds.

OK not bad, the number of comments shows it's not working as well as it should. So lets accept some is good and look at the weak spots.I agree with much of what you say here, but i would actually like to see someone try to copy the model from above and to do it well because it would likely give me more better ideas. As it stands, and because of circumstance, I'll likely only be able to implement 13 or 14 of the 35 new ideas for the tournament that I had jotted down throughout the year. If someone else does a similar style tournament and does it well, it could lead to me having 5, 6 or maybe even more new ideas. Fleshbot did their thing late last year, but it was so horrible that I wasn't even able to net one idea out of their efforts. Something that really comes as no surprise when you consider that the entire Gawker network has gone slowly downhill since Lockhart left.

The annoying flashing banner on the right hand side of the blog was putting me off reading the text. The white background is too bright, it doesn't read like a story. There's no follow up story to read further down the page. Plus some of the links go to 404 or Hentai pages. It's still too impersonal in it's writing.
Compare this with a blog by a news reporter, columnist or critic. To see where I'm going. They build a blog to keep people coming back, yours need to get to the next level and still sell to make you money.

Another quick update for everyone that I wanted to share which to me was interesting. So I was looking through the wp admins on a few of the blogs injunction with some traffic stats and low and behold some of the sites with the higher traffic I did not have an active all in one seo plugin. I had been looking at the analytics the whole time thinking it was activated. Now I'm afraid to touch it. I guess exact match keyword domains are more valuable than any SEO plugin from what I'm seeing thus far. We aren't talking crazy traffic here but it is the difference between 300 hits and 3k. I was taken back a bit so I wanted to share it.
Real question is this now...do I activate the plugin and see the traffic increase or decrease...or just not disturb the sleeping bear?Comment

The problem I see with so many blogs is the first and last aim seems to be getting it SEO friendly. They lack personality, information and above all a reason to come back.
SEO should be 4th on the list. First being something of interest to the reader, second trust (don't talk up shit to earn $20), third loyalty from the reader so he comes back, then SEO. Maybe having something very different and slotting that in as 4th and shifting SEO down.
Building traffic is just one part of selling, needs to be done, yet not the prime concern. Write something interesting, true, intriguing, selling and unique.We sell to human beings not spiders and algorithms. No point in building traffic unless you keep it, if it's just to replace the lost traffic it's a job of treading water to stay afloat.
Probably for some here SEO and impressing spider and algorithms is their level.Comment

This is what you wont get. IT MAKES $$. I couldn't care one fuck if my blogs had returning visitors if It didn't make me more money. For me I have found that making new seo'd blogs all the time instead of updating 1 or 2 blogs all the time makes me much more money. Simple as that.
