It wasn't a t shirt that got her in trouble. It was the fact that she had a device that looked like a bomb around her neck. I'm glad we responded the way we did. And she should know better. She's a student at MIT for god sakes.

You people are ALL fucking retarded.

That doesn't look anything like a bomb, it looks like a circuit breadboard with a 9V battery stuck to it.

      Get real.

Some of you people are truly sad. I don't agree with that dumb girl or her "statement" by wearing that shirt. But being able to travel is a RIGHT not a privilege, as are many other things that get infringed upon by the government as it is. The problem is people like you have grown accustomed to their cages and truly believe it to be up to someone else to ensure your cowardly safety. The ability to drive a car is in all of us but you need a license to do so. That is the governments way of keeping people who can't drive properly off the road. When cars were first invented anyone was able to drive them. Just as anyone was able to ride a horse or walk or take a carriage. Do we NEED to have a license to know how to drive? NO. but we NEED one if we get pulled over for doing something wrong on the road, or else you get more charges, and you NEED a license to get insurance which is a service to pay for your mistakes.

By you sick peoples logic we would NEED a license to walk some day because sometimes people run when they are on a crowded sidewalk and knock others over causing injury and the NEED for insurance. By you sick peoples logic it is ok for a government to hand out the ability to do something that you can do by will of your own mind. That my retarded friends is oppression. I have always felt that people should have to get a license to have children since most people today are being or have been raised by people unable to do the job right. Though I know it is an infringement on freedom. And what is more harmful to our world than someone raised from childhood wrong by imbeciles to go out into the world and foster more imbeciles? This is much more dangerous than a person who is a bad driver out on the highways. A properly raised person would not shout "fire" in a crowded movie theater for kicks. But alas this world will always have that cruel irony that you are free to do anything yet sometimes freedom of one person infringes on the well being of another.

But by your logic my idea of having to have a license to breed is just fine because the government says so. But in that case most of you would not be here to be posting your inane compliance and sheepish brainwashed opinions of freedom. As much as I would love to eliminate all morons from the world, you all have a right to exist. Just as that girl has the right to wear whatever she wants, be it a suit of armor or a burlap sack. Just as anyone who can reach the peddles has the right to drive. However nobody has the right to drive over someone, blow up a plane or abuse/neglect a child. This is the logic that seems to escape you, maybe you should write down the definition of "freedom" a few times in a book until you understand it.

This time I'll take sides with the airport police.

Good point however I believe that even a bottle of water may look like a bomb as well. Who knows, perhaps you have a nitroglycerin or other explosive shit which looks exactly like water there... So is it a reason to arrest everyone who has a bottle in the hand?

This is a retarded argument. I could beat a pilot to death with a cowboy boot or choke him out with a belt. So should we all fly barefoot with our pants sagging down to our ass?

That's why driving is a priviledge and not a right.
No driving is a right, just like anything that is necessary to live in the world. But as it is with everything in life rising population and the retards of society fuck it up for the rest of us and having to have a license to drive became part of life to regulate the roads. You will understand this fully when the time comes that people will have more and more of their rights turned to "privileges" by the actions of the few at the reaction of the cowardly masses. The more we advance technologically and in size as a race the less freedom we will have. Thanks to cowards who believe that regulation means safety.

Terrorists will always plot to destroy. Criminals will always carry guns whether or not it is legal to do so, just as people will drive on the roads with or without a license if they really want to. By regulating things for safety it is the criminals and terrorists who win, not the people. Compliance has just become commonplace over the many years to the weak minded. It is people who believe that rights are privileges that are the ruin of society. YOU are the true threat to democracy.

Privilege: a special right, immunity, or exemption granted to persons in authority or office to free them from certain obligations or liabilities.

LOL@ those who can't quite grasp this whole rights vs privileges argument.

You have a right to travel about...but no that right does not extend to HOW you travel..in other words what MODE of transportation you use.

If you choose to do so, you can walk your ass from LA to NY. But if you choose to drive...you have to succumb to the law of the land and apply for a drivers license.

The state will put you through a series of tests to make sure you understand the rules of the road, and how to operate a vehicle in a safe manner.

Once you are given this license by the state...who does not have to give you one. You now have to obey those laws or stand the chance of losing that privilege to drive.

For those who still think it's a right...does that mean then a 6 month old baby can drive if he / she wants to?

Sure it's an extreme example...but rights are something you are BORN with, not something you EARN with age.. Where does it stop? Now a lot of states won't even let 16 year olds get a license...so are their rights being violated?

How about the 12 year old who thinks he's old enough?

How about me, does that "right" now extend to airplanes? Can I now just run down and by me a plane and attempt to get myself up in the air without proving to the government I deserve that opportunity?

Get your head out of your asses...you have the right to travel...you just don't have the right to do it in an expedited manner like flying.

There are things you just cannot do, like yell fire in a crowded movie theater. Not being able to do these things have nothing to do with losing any freedoms, however have everything to do with using some common fucking sense, which to me is a skill most people born past 1972 just don't have.

Get your head out of your ass, and find something else more important to focus on. Seriously, this is not a battle worth fighting. If you want to fight this asshat administration we have here, do it on a real issue like the war.
Dude I'm glad to see you're still cool! I agree completely, there is a fine line between freedom of expression and shutting down an entire airport, wasting poeple's time trying to excercise your misinterpration of freedom.. although most of her crime is just ignorance, I hope she doesn't do any time..

Thats the entire point exactly, that everyone keeps missing. You cannot have absolute security unless you are prisoners in your own country, and even then prisons are hardly safe places. Thats why airport security is a joke, why the so-called war on terrorism is a joke and why this country being laughed at so much.

This entire situation proves that the whole matter is a joke. Let us assume for a moment that this really did appear to be a bomb. Why was she allowed into the airport, allowed to walk around and stroll up to an information booth to ask about the flight. If it really were a bomb, it'd be a little bit too damn late by then.

But like I said before, they knew it wasn't a bomb, knew that as soon as they saw it. Thats evidenced by the fact that they did not close anything down, evacuate, etc. It was a joke. So what we have here is a stupid bitch from MIT whoring attention and a bunch of cops patting themselves on the back and talking big for doing nothing more useful than arresting a politically incorrect bitch.

I find the whole thing comical, which is why I posted it on here. It really shows what a joke the whole war on terrorism is.

You and others can't grasp the concept that the only reason laws exist is because enough people exist to make th fears of death and destruction a reality. No person with a sane and just mind will buy a car and drive it not knowing how to. They would put others at risk of danger. No person in their right mind would buy an airplane and try to fly it with no instruction, they would kill themselves doing so. If a 12 year old kid wanted to drive and his/her parents taught him how then yes he would have the right to drive. Right is a responsibility of the individual not of the government. and as long as people like yourself who believe it is the governments and others to enforce what a person can and cannot do with their own free will this world will never be free.
