Yeah it is pretty dry here mate, we're in drought here, we get plenty of snakes, mainly King Browns and Common Browns also the odd Death Adder and Carpet pythons, we have even had a couple of brown snakes sneak into the house, I hate brown snakes they are deadly fuckers and scare the shit outta me

Yeah i know what you mean mate about brown snakes, they a fast puckers. We live out west in Nth Qld and with the wet season coming on now, there are a few poken about. Comes in handy to have a dog or two with you walken about. Nothing scares the shit out of me more then to see a couple of foot brown snake standing up on its tale looking back at you. At least with a dog with you, one has a 50/50 chance if the pucker is going to have a go at you, he might go for the dog first,lol. Fucken oth mate, the only way i would go near a 6+ footer brown, is with a 12 guage also, lol.
Right to life and all that is good in its place, but when one lives out in the sticks and there is kids about, browns and the like have to go. And the safest way for all is a 4/10 or shotty.
If a kid got bitten by one of those in the bush, he or she would be dead by the time the flying doctor arrived. Time and place for most things, but sorry to say, ones family in the bush and snakes, well what ever it takes to keep the snakes away from ones home.Things that make ya go hmmmm....Comment

Talking about brown snakes, Here is one lucky kid.
A six-year-old Northern Territory (Aus) boy is lucky to be alive after he was bitten twice by a deadly king brown snake in a remote community.

The young fellow can thank his mother that he survived after she administered emergency first aid, bandaging his leg and ensuring the snake's venom did not spread to the rest of his body.
The young fellow had been feeding his pet cockatoo at Warakurna, about 760km west of Alice Springs, about 7.30 on Tuesday night when the snake sprang out and bit him twice on the ankle.
His mother had training as a veterinary nurse and recognised it as a king brown straight away and gave him first aid. She wrapped it up and basically saved his life.
The young fellow had a four-hour wait before the Royal Flying Doctor Service arrived and flew him to Alice Springs. It was about eight-and-a-half hours (after the bite) before he got into Alice and they administered the anti-venom. Doctors had to give the young fellow two vials of anti-venom to combat the snake bite. He was having hallucinations and he was delerious. The venom went into his muscles and was attacking them.
His foot is still swollen, doctors expect him to recover fully.
One lucky kid.
