I worked my highschool summers with ProShows .... as an audio technician, and I will let you in on a little secret:
More than 80% of live shows are lip-sync'ed ... with a live mic, so that [the artist] can interact with the crowd, and give them that "LIVE" feel ...
Lip-sync'ing assures the artists' voices do not crack or fail altogether ... and with most artists running, and dancing, and whatever else they do, it also assures we do not hear their huffing and puffing, heavy breathing, and weazing. (yes many artists are smokers .. )
