No the business model has changed 180 degrees. in 1991 we had far less traffic and made far more money. The turn over porn shops made would show most here how the online porn game has gutted porn totally. There's still some money left in the retail end of offline porn, research Ann Summers and Beate Uhste to see what they still can make today. Then imagine what was made 10, 20 years ago. I know personally that porn shops were extremely lucrative in the 60s.Paul, I have no issue with you and I'm glad that you are able to enjoy the fruits of your labor, but please don't make the mistake of comparing today's business model with that of 20, 10, or even 2 years ago.

I'm not able to work properly, yet I did shoot a scene last year that even though I was in no condition to do so, gets very high scores from surfers. There was also a BG scene I shot of a guy with 2 girls and again high scores and lots of positive results.
The problem today is this total focus on driving traffic as if that will solve the problem. The definition of madness is trying the same thing that isn't working over and over again in the hope it will work. We know that giving away free porn isn't working long term, we see here it isn't working shot term. There are millions of porn consumers who have no intention of paying for what is being offered.
There are two option. Give up selling pre recorded porn, not today but plan that into your future. Or change what you offer.

It's not cookie cutter tours that are the problem, it's cookie cutter porn. With people thinking the key to the quality of the porn is the date shot of definition of the image. Churning out cookie cutter porn has done more damage than people imagine.
It's obvious the business model of giving away porn for free, leave a market for selling the porn devastated and leads to being nothing but traffic sellers to what little is left Webcam and Dating. Maybe when the surfers realise that paying for webcam and dating is a foolish as paying for porn, the traffic market will implode. Yes there's free options now, which are hurting. Yes, throwing traffic at a site that clearly isn't converting without solving the problem is clearly madness.
Throwing traffic at a join page that has more hols than a sieve isn't madness, it's sheer stupidity.

matuloo the first solution is simple. Fix the join page. Any join page that converts less than 1% of any traffic is shite. Throwing more traffic be it 404 or traffic plucked out of the air is useless. It's clear to everyone that the join page is the biggest problem. Heaping more traffic onto the problem isn't going to fix anything.
Then look at the sites in terms of selling and not landing traffic on it. That needs a man who knows content, not a man who knows how to direct more traffic to a problem. I looked at porn.com a premier porn domain, it's aiming at sending traffic elsewhere. When I clicked to watch a MILF scene, it showed me a lesbian teen site.
Now even this dim wit knows that's wrong filtering and targeting. Put a MILF site up where the scene came from if you really want to convert it. If that's the work PR are going to do with your traffic, 404 or what ever. Keep it and work it properly yourself.Comment

We kept the niche changes internal to help avoid people choosing niches that only have limited content originally, but now that we lowered the cap and that some webmasters aren't concerned about the lower amount of vids this is something that we may revisit. In the mean time if you hit me up on icq it takes seconds for me to switch over, and i'm around at least 10 hours a day normally.
I'll mention to our designers about the 404 pages. They seem to be bringing up random videos at the moment, maybe a list of categories with thumbs may be a better land there.webmaster at pimproll dot comComment

I put my new domains in there till I am ready to develop, I have about 80 in there I think, no trades that I know of, unless there are some backlinks from former owners or whatever.

Any other traffic sales, CPC ads, pay site sales would have been a bonus on top of that. $500 to $1000 would have been easily attainable with little risk. That's why I tend to think it's a bad deal unless you don't have another choice. If you have so many domains you cant develop them all then something is better than nothing.
