First "real" concert though was The Doobie Brothers when I was 12. Right up at the barricade wall in front. Was really insane man, lol. There was a million pounds of pot smoke in the air and joints and pipes were being passed everywhere. Every bit the proper introduction to rock n roll concerts
2nd show I went to, I was at the show where they shot the video for Gun N Roses, paradise city. I was right up there in front and about 2 minutes in you can see me plain as day for like a second. You can't really see it here, but on the big screen it's plain as day. I had my 80's long hair and shit...pretty funny.

Honestly, The Osmond Brothers -- WAAAAY back in the 20th century. I was probably 12. Have not seen them since. Hmmmm.

Most recently, my brother took me backstage at Elvis Costello. Better!

It was Feb 19th, 1977. Freedom Hall in Johnson City, Tennessee.

            I was 6 years old.

The first concert I ever went to was Elvis Presley.

He was fat then, and he died 5 months later.

But it was such a spectacle that I totally remember that night. I was glad I got to see him.

This is a photo from that night.

lol I saw a show from that tour I had bought the debut Queensryche album they released on private label before they got signed. KISS was out of their make up (Lick it Up), and I had a girl on my shoulders who kept flashing Paul Stanley because she wanted to fuck him! LMAO God she was nuts. Fun though

Saw Kiss during that tour also. Then again when they put the make up back on and Ace came back. Also Saw Ace at CeeBeeJeeBees...Big ace fan myself. The venue was so small some of my arm hair was burned when his guitar starts shooting flames. good times.

The FIRST one I went to was with my parents - John Denver ;) Can't even remember where we were living then.

My first "date" concert was Boston in Jacksonville in....75? 76?

Cool choice! I miss Alice in my collection, besides that from the "must see" I still do miss Van Halen and Mötorhead.

My first band, let me think I guess it was Jethro Tull way back in 1994, I would say that was the first big one, after that I saw B.B. King and John Mayall - old skool... I guess I was a lot into blues back then..

I was right up there in front and about 2 minutes in you can see me plain as day for like a second. You can't really see it here, but on the big screen it's plain as day. I had my 80's long hair and shit...pretty funny.

oh yes I had my long hair from 12 to 17 actually, a kid rocker, weighing about 100 pounds way back then I had to look very creepy.

But I am listening to Guns n Roses since 1991 and of course I know the "Paradise City" video very well, how many people were there on that night? it really looks like 150 000 or something on the video.. incredible.

my own - I was by far as good as it got playing the fiddell. Eventhough most of the recitals, concerts, and theatre productions were not popular, they came to see me play an instrument i hated and do it gracefully. I just wanted my mum to stop schitzing out, so acheiving seemed to reduce the hell of a childhood she would have dished me, had i failed. I have never played it again, nor have i been home.

But I am listening to Guns n Roses since 1991 and of course I know the "Paradise City" video very well, how many people were there on that night? it really looks like 150 000 or something on the video.. incredible.
Well the meadowlands was packed and it was sick. During deep purple's "smoke on the water" they lit the stands on fire and like four rows were burning. then everyone jumped down from the seats to the floor and security couldn't catch them all. There were snapple stands toward the rear of the floor selling bottles of snapple for $3 a peice and the crowd completely mowed over them, so there were piles of snapple with everyone just taking it. the snapple stands were reduced to rubble. I believe The meadowlands arena banned open floor seating for concerts after that.

It was insane. There were ambulances lined up outside with all the people who had broken bones and heat stroke on stretchers and shit. And my buddy and his girlfriend got so wasted before the show that they lost their tickets and had to sit on the car for seven hours and wait for us, lol.

As you can see In that photo, I made my way to the front, and thought I was going to die. the crowd would lift you right off your feet. I don't know how I made it out alive, lol.

                                                                Quite an experience...

Anyway if you would compare I guess it was not a pure teen-hysteria thing, I guess music still made sense those days, and I still enjoy listening to them, although partly through the eyes of my upbringing.

You make me sick old man, I hope you don't have children... how limited a beleif they must have in themself with an attitude like that.... I reckon you would like it not to be true because like most you feel so insecure and shallow.... I haven't even begun to engage much in my adult life because I did nothing but work as a child because thats all I was taught. Thats cool though, I can admit that I too am as lost in this world of chaos as you, and would never see myself as "better" than you, every single person on this earth was presented with free will, a very powerful and time consuming ability, meaning we should all be so busy on our own paddock of shit, that whatever anyone else is up to only effects me when it limits my ability to continue.
