2nd show I went to, I was at the show where they shot the video for Gun N Roses, paradise city. I was right up there in front and about 2 minutes in you can see me plain as day for like a second. You can't really see it here, but on the big screen it's plain as day. I had my 80's long hair and shit...pretty funny.First "concert" was really a private show for some IBM employees and their families by Roy Clarke, and a bunch of really amazing country stars.
First "real" concert though was The Doobie Brothers when I was 12. Right up at the barricade wall in front. Was really insane man, lol. There was a million pounds of pot smoke in the air and joints and pipes were being passed everywhere. Every bit the proper introduction to rock n roll concerts

It was Feb 19th, 1977. Freedom Hall in Johnson City, Tennessee.
I was 6 years old.
The first concert I ever went to was Elvis Presley.
He was fat then, and he died 5 months later.
But it was such a spectacle that I totally remember that night. I was glad I got to see him.

KISS was out of their make up (Lick it Up), and I had a girl on my shoulders who kept flashing Paul Stanley because she wanted to fuck him! LMAO God she was nuts. Fun though

Saw Kiss during that tour also. Then again when they put the make up back on and Ace came back. Also Saw Ace at CeeBeeJeeBees...Big ace fan myself. my own - I was by far as good as it got playing the fiddell. Eventhough most of the recitals, concerts, and theatre productions were not popular, they came to see me play an instrument i hated and do it gracefully. I just wanted my mum to stop schitzing out, so acheiving seemed to reduce the hell of a childhood she would have dished me, had i failed. I have never played it again, nor have i been home.Comment

Well the meadowlands was packed and it was sick. During deep purple's "smoke on the water" they lit the stands on fire and like four rows were burning. then everyone jumped down from the seats to the floor and security couldn't catch them all. There were snapple stands toward the rear of the floor selling bottles of snapple for $3 a peice and the crowd completely mowed over them, so there were piles of snapple with everyone just taking it. the snapple stands were reduced to rubble. I believe The meadowlands arena banned open floor seating for concerts after that.
It was insane. There were ambulances lined up outside with all the people who had broken bones and heat stroke on stretchers and shit. And my buddy and his girlfriend got so wasted before the show that they lost their tickets and had to sit on the car for seven hours and wait for us, lol.
As you can see In that photo, I made my way to the front, and thought I was going to die. the crowd would lift you right off your feet. I don't know how I made it out alive, lol.

many concerts towards the end of the 60s that were free outdoor concerts at my college(American Univ) included Grateful Dead, Procul Harem, Richie Havens, Hendrix, James Taylor, Pete Seeger (he's the only one I remember from the Moratorium concert in DC), Allman Bros and many others
