One can expect some of these sponsors to come in here and defend their programs. I mean... they'd look foolish if they didn't. However, to come in here and blame an affiliate's traffic or criticize their promotional activities is just ignorant. Yes.. there are a lot of affiliates who don't understand the business, niche marketing, pricing, targeted branding...etc.... but there are also a lot of sponsors who don't have a clue as well.. thus the bad ratios. You guys with the shitty ratios need to look at your own programs and stop being so quick to jump down the affiliate's throat.

Both should meet in the middle and discusse perfect promotion tools.

It's all dependant on many variables such as traffic volume, traffic quality, NICHE TARGETTING, presentation & sales text, promo method, GEO because let's face it, if your traffic is from non billable countries, forget it..,, source of traffic, your other outbound links, etc, etc, etc..

People should email their programs and include a sample URL that they feel underperformed. Include traffic source(s) you were trying to match up with and ask for specific advice. Ask what paysite to promote in a niche if there are multiple choices.
It's not a matter of choosing to focus on the affiiates efforts *instead of* anything else. It's the process of elimination with the affiliates marketing as the final step. The sponsor already knows at a glance if there are, or ever were, any technical difficulties with a paysite as well as it's overall ratio across all traffic sources. Once thats known, where else should the sponsor focus but the marketing and advertising efforts of the one individual? Without successful affiliates, a program is nothing. Dont forget that. Some do.. some don't. It seems that the sponsors who have really stellar customer service are always the ones who I do the worst at. Additionally, a lot of them simply shoot themselves in the feet by shaving sales (Royal Cash) or have a total lack of communication on all fronts (Teen Dolls). In any event.. that's just the way this fucked up industry is so I just take it as the shit is dished out.they dont care about affiliates.Comment

Reps that are responding, what kind of advice are you going to give? I mean people who post here promote 10,20, hell 50+ programs, and are probably using the same methods with each one. Obviously there are general tricks that will give you a better ratio while drastically lowering your CTR, but that's not what people want.
IMO if I have a link on my site that says "click here to download more anal movies", and program A converts that at 1:1500 while your program converts that at 1:4000, that's your fault, not mine.Comment

Well I do agree to a certain extent with one exception, it all depends where the links are situated on the site, obviously you can?t have both links in the same position.
My advice, if you are looking for true stats on 2 links on any given site promoting the same niche as you quoted above I would swap the links around and then see what the results are after 1 month. Positioning of links and banners are very important and can reflect on your ratios.Comment
