but for true attractiveness, the kind where you fall in love with someone and can't think about anything else, for me honestly it's a smell. I know instantly when I'm around it. Had it twice in my life, both women wrong for me, but that smell overpowered everything in my brain and stuck with me for literally years.

and there's some medical research in this as well, talking about incompatible immune systems that cause attractiveness and what we basically call love....personally I think it's a trigger for obsession with someone related to mating for what your body chemically thinks is the best possible mate for offspring, nothing metal or conscious to it at all.
