This. I just bought a membership the other day to a website I have been promoting because they offered some really unique and great content.
There's
some porn companies here that seem to want to blame it all on piracy and tubes instead of looking at their own product and realizing that it's shit that's been done way to many times before and offers absolutely nothing new. Sure piracy hurts, but if you're trying to sell memberships to a paysite that sucks or has a million pre-checked cross-sales or offers nothing unique or the same old boring shit you can find anywhere else then you should be putting the blame on yourself as well. With crap like Media Revenue was pulling, can you really blame customers for being hesitant to buy a membership?
Don't get me wrong, piracy does hurt, but I also think some are using it as an excuse to other problems.
