why do people always say youtube is so bad when it comes to piracy?
Youtube has done good by content producers. If you really don't want your content to be abused there, they give you the tools to make sure it doesn't get on there with automatic fingerprinting and audio detection.
I tried finding the awesome UFC 142 barboza headkick KO on youtube yesterday. All 50 or so videos that said it was it, was all disabled for copyright infringment. It was impossible to find the clip on there.

They do use that. I have personally tried uploading clips that happened to have copyrighted background music. Audio gets automatically removed, or the video doesn't get published. It can also autodetect music, and can place a link below the video to buy the song. You also get an option to replace the audio with a licensed song. They have a ton to choose from.
